CBRE Heery International seeks an experienced Sr. Project Manager to join our team at SeaTac airport to support the construction of a $500M Expansion and Renovation program for the North Satellite to accommodate Alaska Airlines operations in Seattle.
The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for managing construction activities for the project, interacting with the project team to include contractors, designers, stake holders, and Airport maintenance staff, issue resolution in a timely manner, confirming compliance with project documents and schedules, reviewing changes to the construction documents that apply to the project , review of monthly electrical payment applications, and other duties as assigned to that position by the team.
Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering project within area of assigned responsibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists Senior Engineer with specific phases or aspects of a project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications, technical plans and product testing.
Assists Senior Engineer with planning the layout of a project and integrates engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval.
Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
Prepares scaled drawings and contract documents for building contractors.
Assists Senior Engineer with construction administration duties and conducting periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans.
Directs integration of technical activities and products including the preparation of operating and maintenance manuals, studies, and reports.
Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.
15-25 years of experience as a resident engineer on large, complex ground up, public institutional projects that require phasing and major coordination efforts is required.
A full understanding of all applicable code compliance requirements, the ability to work as part of a cohesive team, the ability to deal with multiple personalities, solve conflicts, and work in a dynamic public environment is a must.
Aviation project experience or large public facility background would be a plus.
Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
Additionally, this individual must possess a high level of organizational skills as well as being proficient with multiple computer software programs.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree (B.S. or B.A.) from four-year college or university and 15+ or more years related experience and/or training.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
Professional Engineer (PE) registration is desirable.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.
Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
