This individual will have the skills and knowledge across both the System Software domain and the System Hardware domain that are required to design high quality rack configurations. These Racks will be designed to drive serviceability up and costs down in order to achieve the best TCO possible for Oracle’s internal customers by engaging in every step of Rack Development. They will be able to work with a variety of internal and external Engineering Teams. They will have the System experience necessary to design a minimal set of optimized power and thermal rack configurations that will fit into the different Oracle data centers.

They will have the experience and knowledge to drive rack landing and power-on process and track progress, communicate next steps, and communication with all the involved teams to create a feedback loop that will be used to ensure continuous process improvement.

This individual will have experience creating Test Plans, Test Suites, and Test Cases as well as running tests on populated racks and individual servers. They will have experience debugging the tests as well as capturing pass/fail results and data (e.g. logs) to support the “pass” or “fail” cases. For failures, it would be beneficial if they are sufficiently experienced that they can provide a first order evaluation of the source of the failure.

They must be competent with Linux and be capable of rapidly ramping up to a higher level of competency. Ideally the candidate will have significant experience and a high level of competence with Python, however a diverse SW and system test background and a demonstrated ability and interest to rapidly learn could be substituted.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Responsible for developing, applying and maintaining quality standards for company products with adherence to both internal and external standards. Develops and executes software test plans. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results. Analyzes test results and recommends corrective actions.

As a member of the technical/process QA division, you will design functional, integration and regression test plans, build and execute manual and automated tests and perform highly complex analysis for multiple products. Set cross-functional product testing standards. Analyze, evaluate and plan methods of approach and organize means to achieve solutions to complex problems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
