The network engineering team
in OCI is responsible for providing bandwidth and network connectivity for our
customers’ workloads within datacenters as well as across multiple regions and
the globe. This position is within the
network capacity planning team which resides in the network engineering team in
The network capacity
planning team utilizes mathematical models and predictive analysis to help OCI networking
efficiently utilize its resources. Data pipelines from the physical network are
used to gather intelligence about device and bandwidth utilization which in
turn gets processed by algorithms developed by data scientists on the
team. The software developer in this
position will develop, deploy and maintain the systems to gather, monitor,
process and visualize that information.

The ideal software engineer
candidate for the Network Capacity Planning team is a proficient programmer who
has large breadth of knowledge and experience including areas such as
networking, storage, internet protocols and operating systems.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or ComputerScience or related field with 3 years of experience.
Experience in full stack development and objectoriented programming.
Deep understanding and development experience inprogramming with Python.
Experience in building/integrating with RestAPIs with Node.js or Python
Good understanding of building HTML5 single pageapplications.
Experience in developing applications in networkingdomain desired.
Strong knowledge of datastructures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systemsfundamentals.
Systematicproblem-solving approach, strong communication skills, and a sense ofownership and drive.
Work across teams toengineer the best system (both for operations and for customers)regardless of organizational boundaries or ownership.
Experience with any SQL relational database.
Debug, maintain andimprove existing systems, with a focus especially for reducing operationalburden and on performance.
Be a generalist, able todebug issues across a wide breadth of areas.
Design, deploy andmaintain capacity planning systems for internal users.
Design with scale in mind.
Work with partner teamsoutside our org.

BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
