Job Description

Shell Lubricants has been the global market leader for 11 th consecutive years, and has ambitions to continue growing. Packaging represents one of the highest spend components for Lubricants, and is a key lever to drive growth and generate value. Strategic drivers within the packaging strategy are innovation, differentiation and sustainability.

The Category Manager for Packaging will be part of a Global team of Contracting and Procurement professionals, who are responsible forGlobal Sourcing of Packaging.

Key accountabilities include:

  1. Development and implementation of Packaging sourcing strategies tomaximize the value of spend and the revenues for the Lubricants business.

  2. Work with a wide range of stakeholders from Marketing, technology and operations, toanalyse and influence the business requirements and expectations in order to ensure competitiveness and alignment with Business strategy

  3. Manage global sourcing projects and develop effective relationships with global suppliers alongside the business contract holders ensuring that maximum value is extracted from contracts

  4. Work with regional procurement and supply chain teams to ensure alignment of regional and global sourcing strategies.

  5. Coach regional teams to drive commercial excellence

  6. Define and seek out new innovations from the market to reduce costs, increase value and drive sustainability.


· Strong commercial mind-set and business acumen, paired up with strategic thinking and strong analytical skills

· Experienced negotiator with track record of managing contracts

· Knowledge of packaging category

· Experience in Procurement, supply chain and / or sales required

· Experience in Lubricants or FMCG or similar industry

· Ability to work and influence diverse groups of stakeholders
