What you’ll be doing...
The Verizon Consumer Markets (VCM) Analytics & Customer Engagement (ACE) team delivers value to Verizon through business intelligence reporting and analytics by driving insights to actions. ACE is leading the advancement of analytics maturity from understanding the past to predicting the future. This position is on the ACE Data Management & Governance team which responsible for providing data governance for VCM through standards and practices to ensure data access while maintaining data quality, data security and data management.
You will be responsible for data management and data governance of our VCM Teradata and Hadoop platforms. You will implement Data Governance and Master Data Management tools and practices across the organization. Drive data quality including quality measurements and data lineage. Additionally you will be supporting initiatives to improve data governance communication across all the VCM data warehouse. Serve as a data subject matter expert leveraging your technical skills and domain knowledge to bridge business and technical requirements supporting ACE initiatives.
Governance of VCM unified data architecture, specifically KPI and data model governance. Alignment of VCM project requirements with ACE data systems and platform strategy. In this role you will also be supporting our data governance strategy and roadmap for future machine learning, cloud, and data as a service initiatives to drive ACE towards next-generation tools and technology.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
A degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four years of relevant work experience.
Proven experience with data governance, master data management and metadata management.
Experience with data governance tools. i.e. Collibra, Alation, Informatica, IBM, SAP.
Experience with agile project management.
Experience with Teradata and Hadoop platforms.
Experience leading and facilitating cross functional teams.
Experience in process and requirements documentation.
Even better if you have:
A degree in computer science, software engineering, database systems, or related technical field.
Ability to work independently, and multi-task under short deadlines, based upon general direction.
Ability to investigate and solve complex technical problems and data discrepancies. Ability to develop solutions that align tactical solutions with strategic goals.
Possess strong oral and written communication skills, including ability explain complex concepts simply. Ability to clearly and simply organize information that conveys a story using Slides.
Experience leading and facilitating cross functional teams to gain consensus and execute to deliver results.
Ability to define the future state, as well as identifying the steps to get there.
Experience with six sigma, data security and/or audit programs.
Experience with Business Intelligence & Analytics principles and tools.
Experience with big data modeling such as click-stream data, analytic records, and time-series data sets.
Program management experience.
