Summary:

  • The Floor Technician primarily responsible for performing daily cleaning functions of all surface areas including floors and additional assigned areas throughout the community. Trash removal, and recycling pickup throughout the building. Additional duties include moving furniture and assisting with event room set up as requested.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Obtains all necessary cleaning solutions and supplies from the supply closet in order to perform daily cleaning duties. Returns all supplies upon completion of assigned tasks.

  • Performs cleaning of all carpeted surfaces. Vacuums, shampoos and spot cleans all carpeted areas throughout the community. Notes any maintenance of the carpet needed and reports to the Housekeeping Manager.

  • Completes daily dry and wet mopping of tiled or hard surface floors. Strips and scrubs away stains or bad places on the surface of the floors. Applies finish to hard floors and buffs out as appropriate.

  • Conducts cleaning of all stairways and elevators as assigned. Wipes down all walls and handrails with designate cleaning solutions to ensure proper sanitation.

  • Assist with the room set up and break down of resident and staff meetings or functions.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications : (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum of two (2) years working in a commercial housekeeping or floor care environment.

  • Must be able to pass a National Agency Check (NACI) for computer access.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to complete task to the highest standards possible.

  • Ability to deal with frequent interruptions.

  • Follow directions and instructions.

  • Identify safety and hazards and act accordingly.

  • Carry out proper cleaning procedures on a daily basis.

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • May lift equipment weighing 25 pounds. Occasionally assists lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

  • The employee will work in areas where dirt, dust and grease are present. May be exposed to chemicals that could irritate and burn the skin if appropriate protective clothing and equipment are not worn. Some chance of cuts and bruises if appropriate safety methods and procedures are not followed and used. May be required to wear a respirator. May be called upon to work an uncommon tour of duty including nights, holidays and/or weekends. Expected to comply with OSHA, EPA, and State requirements, appropriate fire regulations, and published company work rules.

  • During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
