What you’ll be doing...
The Wireline Network Operations Control Centers (OCC) provide provisioning, maintenance and dispatch support to the Retail, Wholesale and Enterprise business customer bases 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our centers are located throughout Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. Our OCC provides internal operations support for every product level from plain old telephone service (voice) to Optical Carrier Systems. As part of the operations center team, you will be a part of a very fast paced and customer focused work environment.
You will have a lead role in Center Infrastructure Support/Real Estate and Safety/Emergency Preparedness and Business Continuity. You’ll provide expertise and direction to ensure that our multiple centers have emergency preparedness plans in place that meet corporate and internal requirements. You will also ensure we have the infrastructure (rooms, work stations, supporting appliances, chairs, work space, and center IT backbone) to maximize our OCC employee work efficiencies and environment. Partnering with Verizon's Business Continuity & Emergency Management organization to ensure all OCC locations meet required critical path timelines and milestones for emergency preparedness plans to cover various location closing events.
Ensuring all OCC locations complete quarterly safety inspections, create plans to remedy shortfalls, and drive remedies to completion.
Collaborating with OCC owned information system custodians to ensure all systems and records meet both internal security requirements and external regulations (i.e. CPNI 810).
Leading the evolution and improvement of existing technology implemented in the OCC to exceed standards for the IT desktop/workstation environment.
Preparing and executing business cases to approval for large-scale upgrades and individual user replacements.
Manage large-scale OCC office moves and rearrangement projects.
Publishing internal emergency management and infrastructure support communication on a defined cadence to communicate project status to leadership and others.
Soliciting and obtaining funding for requests outside BAU processes (i.e. test equipment, software licenses, etc.) for both capital and expense purchases.
Providing occasional OCC meeting planning & event coordination and execution.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience managing large scale projects.
Knowledge of desktop systems and desktop hardware.
Knowledge of office networking architecture.
Experience creating presentations (through PowerPoint, or other presentation applications).
Willingness to travel.
Even better if you have:
A degree related to IT and/or Emergency Management.
Certification in Project Management.
Experience in Wireline Operations and Operations Control Centers.
Advanced knowledge and skills with Excel.
Experience in analyzing complex data, building reports, presentations and making recommendations.
Experience with G Suite.
