Role description

Oracle Consulting in the Nordics has a dedicated team responsible for leading our Cloud ERP implementation projects. As key members of this team, the Project Managers are responsible for coordinating the ERP Cloud implementation projects for our customers in Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway. The Project Manager will be supported by solution architects, functional & technical subject-matter experts (consultants) and Oracle Consulting sales representatives. The project delivery approach will be based on Oracle’s proprietary True Cloud Method, which is an agile solution-driven way to show fast concrete results to our customers and then improve the solution iteratively.


  • Profit & Loss responsibility of project delivery

  • Responsible leadership of the project delivery team – local and global architects & consultants

  • Project scope management

  • Customer expectation management

  • Project Risk Management

  • Identification of change management issues that can be addressed by Oracle’s Cloud Adoption consultants

  • Project reporting and forecasting, internal and external

  • Supporting, qualification and contribution to sales opportunities

  • Alignment and proactive communication with internal stakeholders

Skills and Experience

  • Professional work experience of business development / improvement projects, preferably related to Cloud and/or Enterprise Software

  • An understanding of the customer’s business drivers and the ability to adapt the project to address those.

  • Education level/Qualifications: University degree in relevant field

  • At least 8-10 years professional experience in IT

  • At least 5-8 years professional experience as Project Manager

  • Distinct Skills of current Project Management methods and trends

  • Proven successful delivery of both Fixed Price and Time & Materials projects

  • Proven team leading track record including larger project teams with 10 team members

  • Presales and proposal management experiences for several proposals, both Fixed Price and Time & Materials

  • Willingness and ability to travel and work onsite at customer location for up to 100% and during >6 month assignments.

  • Proven experience with agile project methodologies.

  • Proven experience with modern delivery models (on demand, mixed delivery with offshore and/or subcontractor resources)

  • Experience with multi-national project management (global core design, piloting and roll-out)

  • Industry experience in a specific field is valuable.

  • Ability to motivate teams, coach team members and lead more junior project management colleagues

  • A solution-oriented, analytical and methodical way of working

  • Very good presentation and communication skills

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

As a recognized authority and leading contributor, this project management professional, provides consistent innovative and high quality solution leadership. Responsible for guiding the successful implementation of non-routine and complex business solutions ensuring high quality and timely delivery within budget to the customer’s satisfaction.

Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle’s solution meets the customer’s objectives by combining industry best practices and product knowledge. Effectively applies Oracle’s methodologies and policies while adhering to contractual obligations, thereby minimizing Oracle’s risk and exposure. Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques for effective project delivery on small to medium engagements. Provides direction and mentoring to project team. Effectively influences decisions at the management level of customer organizations. Ensures deliverables are acceptable and works closely with the customer to understand and manage project expectations. Supports business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities and extensions. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain credibility. Manages the scope of medium sized projects including the recovery of remedial projects.

8-10 years of experience relevant to this position. Prior project team leadership or management experience. Demonstrated ability to follow solid project management principles. Comfortable working in a matrix management environment. Strong communication skills to deal with internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors. Product, technology or industry expertise relevant to the portfolio focus. Selling skills preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Ability to travel as needed.
