Summary:

  • The Supply Technician performs limited aspects of technical supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization) related to depot, local, or other supply activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

  • Compile and maintain material and parts inventory and status information to expedite movement of material and parts between production areas, according to predetermined production schedules and order priorities: Reads production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.

  • Confer with supervisors to determine overdue material and parts and to inform supervisors of material status.

  • Locate and distribute materials to specified production areas, manually or using handcart, or hand truck.

  • Record and maintain inventory of quantity and type of materials and parts received, stocked, and distributed, manually or using computer. Compile and maintains records, such as material inventory records, production records, and timecards, manually, or using computer.

  • Examine material received, verify part numbers, and check discrepancies, such as damaged or unmarked parts.

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • High School Diploma/GED required.

  • 2 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Professionally and tactfully inform others of proper procedures.

  • Effective and efficient customer service skills.

  • Good working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines.

  • An understanding of the needs of the organization serviced.

  • Analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.

  • Ability to obtain Secret clearance.

  • Ability to travel.

  • Must have the ability to pass an in-depth customer background check in addition to the standard employment background check.
