Along with defining multichannel commerce solutions, you’ll engage with clients in an advisory capacity. You’ll provide strategic guidance on the latest Smarter Commerce technologies and how they can be used to benefit the clients' business. With your help, clients and the delivery teams will be able to develop their Smarter Commerce solutions in manageable stages. You’ll be responsible for architecture and delivery of solutions based on WebSphere Commerce Server and other complementary technologies such as search and recommendations systems. You will carry technical responsibility for the programme and maintain the overall technology vision

Required:

An experienced technologist, you’ll need a strong e-Commerce, excellent technical architecture expertise and the ability to lead a team of architects and designers. The following will also be essential:

• Excellent presentation skills and client-facing experience

• Ability to translate technical knowledge into client advice

• Ability to present confidently and convincingly at senior levels

• Good working knowledge of technical risk and issue management

• Be able to create and enforce architectural principles and methodology across the programme

• Ability to provide quality assurance, estimation, planning and commercial input across the programme

• Experience of working across multiple interaction channels; mobile web, apps, desktop and browser.

• Recent experience of implementing major proprietary web product sets such as application servers, web servers, portals and commerce engines, particularly WebSphere Commerce

• Recent experience with operational and non-functional aspects of commerce systems and an understanding of how to architect to service levels

• Understanding of front-end technologies (including MVC, CSS, DOJO framework, Flash and Flex) and user-side paradigms (such as REST, web service)

• Be able to understand wider retail systems and context, such as order management, how to architect to integrate with these systems and maintain the overall architectural vision

• Knowledge of web analytics, SEO etc

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Experience of implementing projects with Global Delivery resources and working with third parties

• Experience and knowledge of other Smarter Commerce software products such as Sterling Commerce, UNICA, Coremetrics

• Experience of Enterprise architecture and delivering long-term roadmaps

• Experience of service improvement initiatives and how to scope and drive these projects

• Ability and experience to act as technical lead on bids and new initiatives
