Rite of Passage THERAPEUTIC MANAGER in South Bend, Indiana

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Therapeutic Manager is a member of the site team implementing the Rite of Passage program. The Therapeutic Manager is responsible for administrating, developing and facilitating the completion of case plans and prescriptive treatment programs in accordance with the requests of the placing agency and the needs of each student on their case load. Therapeutic Managers are the primary service providers for individual, group, family and case management services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Adheres to the facility and daily schedules.

  2. Develops and oversees the completion of Treatment Plans according to case plans. Presents issues and needs of the students.

  3. Develops and oversees the completion of the Graduation Plan based on presenting issues and student needs.

  4. Primary program liaison between student, parents/legal guardian, Client Manager and placing agency officials.

  5. Provides accurate monthly progress and student updates to mandated parties.

  6. Provides individual therapy, family therapy, case management services and crisis intervention to each student assigned to the living area. Completes suicide assessments and documents ongoing evaluation of students on Suicide Precaution Monitoring.

  7. Attends and assists with the facilitation of the Leadership Circles and designated treatment groups.

  8. In conjunction with administrative assistance, the Therapeutic Manager is responsible for managing and updating assigned student files.

  9. Completes parole/progress reports, disciplinary hearings, incident reports, critical incident reports and all other documentation in a timely manner to be reviewed by the consulting Psychologist and Compliance Coordinator. Advises of any problematic situations.

  10. Inputs information regarding visits, individual treatment, telephone calls, treatment group notes, etc. into the student database and in accordance with the position security level and operating procedures.

  11. Acts as a hearing officer. Responds to student grievances.

  12. Assists in gathering information and data for internal and external performance audits.

  13. Supports Group Living Counselors and on-site college interns, if applicable. Assigns duties to the Group Living Counselors and overnight staff that will support each student’s progress and/or ensure the safety and security of the site.

  14. Evaluates Group Living Counselors on-the-job performance and provides information to assist with evaluations, commendations and reprimands.

  15. Assists with training sessions for program staff.

  16. Ensures the safety, health and welfare of staff and students at all times.

  17. Provides encouragement, guidance and resources to the staff and students when needed.

  18. Models and ensures all program norms are upheld without compromise.

  19. Acts as a positive role model and mentor for both staff and students.

  20. Treats others with respect, confronts negative behavior and supports confrontation.

  21. Complies with and implements the Rite of Passage Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate manuals/handbooks.

  22. Ensures the highest standards are maintained to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct and to ensure the program remains in compliance with agency licensing and Rite of Passage policies and procedures.

  23. Assists with the correction of deficiencies and quality improvement efforts.

  24. Attends and participates in all required site and student meetings, including parole hearings and other legal proceedings, Treatment Committee meetings, shift change, Site Cabinet meetings, staff meetings, staff development and clinical supervision with other project staff.

  25. Commits to attending all training and staff development classes in order to ensure sufficient hours of training are completed on an annual basis. Notifies the supervisor if annual training hours are deficient.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must possess a MA/MS in social work, psychology, or counseling from an accredited school, with current license for LMSW, LMFT or LMHC.

  2. Prior Case Management experience required including three years experience with juveniles.

  3. Prior substance abuse education, intervention and treatment services provided to juveniles (CAC II or CAC III preferred).

  4. Good interpersonal skills including the ability to interview potential employees, if required.

  5. Must meet the requirements to be an eligible ROP driver. Must possess a current State Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years.

  6. Strong knowledge of overall company operations and policies and procedures.

  7. Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical and TB test.

  8. Able to work in excess of 40 hours per week with varied work shifts.
