Job Description

The Senior Director, Human Resources will serve as the strategic HR Business Partner to 3 global business leaders from the Genetic Sciences businesses. This role will work effectively across a highly matrixed environment, engaging and aligning with business leaders, HRBPs/HR field teams, and HR COEs, to identify gaps and opportunities, and together develop the go-forward winning organizational and talent strategy. The incumbent will need to lead with customer focus, while demonstrating leadership agility and urgency across our matrixed and global footprint.


  • Partners and coaches senior people leaders and their teams on complex leadership and HR issues including development, engagement, and talent performance and issues which could have the potential to create a competitive advantage for the business.

  • Develops and implements HR strategy and operating plans (talent management and development, leadership & team effectiveness, engagement, headcount and compensation planning) to drive business strategy and site engagement.

  • Translates business priorities into organizational capability and and builds alignment through development and/or facilitation of appropriate leadership team (i.e., team effectiveness, goal development and alignment, manager capability, etc.).

  • Drives and implements group and division change management and transformation initiatives at the business unit level.

  • Develops and implements robust integrated talent management plans and drives culture change initiatives to attract, retain, develop, and engage talent in critical roles.

  • Uses insights and data to drive decision-making and action-planning. Balances data analysis, experience and judgment to form strategies and solutions to drive action planning

  • Facilitates organizational diagnosis and metrics to drive organizational effectiveness through talent and organizational capabilities and culture.

  • Ensure alignment of HR processes i.e. Human Resources Review (HRR), Performance Management and Development (PMD), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), etc. with strategic and operating goals.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • BA/BS required, MA/MS preferred

  • HR generalist with 12+ years of successful experience and a minimum of 3 years as senior HR generalist and/or HR Business Partner.

  • 5 years supporting global functions

  • Comprehensive HR experience, including a complete understanding of and hands on exposure to the full mix of HR functions in a global environment.

  • Experience working with a variety of functions including R&D, product development, engineering, marketing, strategic planning, manufacturing, and commercial

  • A track record of positive results and an ability to show how his/her programs and initiatives have contributed to business performance.

  • Must have implemented change management initiatives

  • Ability to influence without authority and develop positive professional relationships with senior leadership, subordinates and peers in a large, complex matrix

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and use a high level of tact, diplomacy, discretion and empathy/understanding in a global environment.

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to travel up to 30% as needed.
