Maintain responsibility for products within a product franchise for the global market (USA, EU, JP and ROW).
Support the development of the Upstream Marketing Strategy and Product Roadmap.
Develop and execute comprehensive product strategy and launch plans including sizing market opportunities, assessing customer needs and market landscape, positioning, pricing, programs, and distribution pathways to create robust business case proposals and best grow the franchise while remaining consistent with the overall business plan.
Ability to lead and execute robust Voice of the Customer efforts to uncover unmet customer needs and develop user/product requirements, and interface with technical team to ensure fulfillment of these requirements throughout the product development process.
Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned products/areas of focus.
Establish relationships with physicians, other HCPs and outside vendors to execute critical product & business initiatives.
Develop global relationships and builds credibility with key internal cross-functional stakeholders.
Provide leadership and direction to the product launch team through all phases of product pre-launch, which include establishing appropriate inventory levels of product, ensuring that all regulatory requirements have been addressed, and arranging for a complete product evaluation.
Interface with all regional markets to ensure proper forecasting and product delivery, develop and deliver training for effective global product launches.
Develop strong relationships and maintain close collaboration with downstream marketing counterpart to track and evaluate product performance and sales after product launch.
Use classic marketing capabilities: market understanding and segmentation, value proposition development, product positioning and targeting, pricing, branding, and marketing claims development to further business objectives.
Collaborate with functional partners to execute with speed and quality.
Life Cycle Management of relevant product portfolio.
Perform all other essential duties as required.
Southborough, MA - The Product Manager - Upstream Marketing, Urology position will lead upstream marketing initiatives, including identifying and developing new business and product opportunities within a product franchise for a global market. In doing so, the position interfaces closely with R&D, RA/QA, Operations, international and regional downstream Marketing, physician partners and outside vendors to develop strategies/proposals to maximize potential for revenue, profit, and market share. This role has responsibility for representing the voice of the customer to identify and champion customer needs, guide the product development process, manage prototype evaluations, support regulatory compliance, and create effective commercial strategies. The individual must develop a very good understanding of the market needs, market trends, and competitive forces and become a subject matter expert within the area of focus. This position works closely with international marketing and their regional downstream marketing counterparts during formal launch and transitioning of the product to commercialization. The individual should have experience working cross-functionally, partnering with vendors, developing physician relationships, and demonstrate accountability, urgency, attention to detail, and a high level of business acumen. This role also has responsibility for product life cycle management, monitoring market feedback for product improvement, transitioning to new products and developing obsolescence strategy as needed.

Bachelor's degree in marketing, engineering or life sciences is required; advanced degree (MBA) or equivalent experience is preferred.
Minimum of 4 years upstream/downstream product marketing experience is required, with a minimum of 2 years in medical device product management Combination of previous upstream and downstream marketing experience.
Proven success taking a product from initial concept through development, including requirements definition, validation, and product launch is preferred.
Demonstrated collaborative leadership skills within cross- functional product development teams is desired.
Strong clinical competency and analytical skills are essential.
Outstanding written and verbal presentation and communication skills are essential.
Must be a self-motivated individual with track record of meeting established goals and deadlines; can act with sense of urgency to get things done.
Must possess the ability to successfully manage multiple projects/deadlines concurrently while maintaining focus on thoroughness and attention to detail.
Track record of increasing responsibility within marketing roles is desired.
Must possess the ability to navigate and develop relationships within a large matrix organization.
Travel of approximately 25% (including international) is desired.
