Olympus America Inc. Senior Financial Analyst in Southborough, Massachusetts

Job Duties::

As a Title working on the XXXX team, you will be empowered and inspired to do your best work. You will contribute to our mission by XXX, XXX and XXX. In a typical day, you will:

  • Collaborate with ORA functional leaders and project managers by providing analysis tools that will allow functional areas to evaluate and choose between tactical options, define measures of success and the related target metrics and KPIs, and provide reporting and analysis as to results.

  • Partner with management in assigned areas to understand business subject matter and provide financial guidance and support in proactively managing risks and opportunities.

  • Partner with Finance OSTA and ORA departments to design and implement data and reporting solutions to meet both short term and long term needs of supported functions.

  • Serve as financial lead on ORA project teams, perform financial modeling to facilitate investment decisions, validate financial data, and work to control and forecast project spend.

  • Assist with five-year financial plan, incorporating business trends, integrating new product development and operations improvement projects.

  • Partner across Olympus divisions and functions to help obtain and refine key assumptions and inputs, targets and metrics for the organization.

  • Drive product portfolio valuation process, tools and analysis to accurately forecast investments, financial returns and timing.

  • Objectively evaluate new product development and operational improvement initiatives to drive revenue, improve margin and reduce operating expense.

  • Enhance process and improve execution of the entity’s financial planning, forecasting, and related analytical activities.

  • Ensure alignment of annual financial plan with organization’s five-year plan.

  • Provide ad hoc analytical support and other essential duties as directed.

  • Perform all other essential duties as assigned.

Job Requirements::

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required; MBA is strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years business planning and financial analysis experience.

  • Must have relevant software skills; experience with the following software products or their equivalents is required: Oracle, Hyperion, SmartView or Essbase; Advanced skill level in use of Microsoft Excel, Power Point.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated aptitude to design, build, test and implement complex financial modelling that is error free.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • High level of motivation, commitment and dedication combined with a proactive mind set.

The Senior Financial Analyst serves a key role within OSTA by providing analytical support to management across ORA organization. The incumbent will be required to collaborate cross-functionally to devise financial modelling and profitability analysis, perform budgeting/forecasting, develop KPIs and metrics, and ensure business performance management. He/She will conduct valuations and financial analytics for new product development opportunities and analyse existing product pipeline to forecast long term financial health.
