Verizon Network Automation Engineer in Southlake, Texas

What you’ll be doing...

We are seeking a Network Automation Engineer to drive and develop automation solutions for network element deployment, lifecycle and migration activities.

  • Providing leadership in identifying candidate use cases, and translating network engineering and operations requirements into automation features for development.

  • Driving, developing and implementing network automation in support of Verizon’s transformation initiatives and expanding capacity to execute by creating programmable solutions for network engineering and implementation activities.

  • Understanding application networking requirements and translating them to a network configuration deployment.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.

  • Experience with IP Networking, v4/v6, BGP, OSPF, MPLS.

  • Experience with Cisco IOS/NX-OS/IOS-XR, JUNOS CLI.

  • Deployed network connectivity and services for applications in a service provider network.

  • Experience with SDN Overlay / Clos IP fabric networking (VXLAN, Cisco VTS, Nokia Nuage).

  • Combination of software engineering skills such as Netconf, Yang.

  • Expertise in programming language such as Java, JavaScript , Python, ReSTXML, XSLT, xsd, JSON, HTML.

  • Worked on API development/integration.

  • Experience with Full SDLC and SCRUM methodology.

  • Experience with Node.JS, MongoDB, ExpressScript, Angular (MEAN stack). Developed applications based on MEAN stack.

  • Tail-f/Cisco NSO experience.

  • Experience with Vagrant/VirtualBox/Ansible.

  • Linux/OpenStack experience.

  • Experience with Jenkins / other Testing methodologies.

  • Experience with developing NPM package.

  • Experience with automated testing suite development (Jenkins or like).

  • Deployed applications in Cloud (VCP/AWS).

  • Familiarity with network deployments for LTE EPC architecture, infrastructure, and applications.

  • Experience with software engineering technologies and processes.

  • Understanding of EPC mobility applications and VNF’s.
