Monsanto is seeking a Development Platform Lead to lead a team of architects and software engineers who design, build and steward a comprehensive technical platform which services all the software developers across Monsanto through cutting edge tooling, frameworks and automation. The team includes API/Integration, Cloud Operations & Security and Phoenix, our development framework & services.
What you will do:
Serve as a people leader to foster a team culture that maximizes value delivery to enable our key business objectives.
Embrace servant leadership, maximizing the development and performance of the team and individuals through continuous feedback and coaching.
Deliver technology solutions – you will lead a team of world-class architects and engineers in delivery of key initiatives for an enterprise-class developer platform.
Develop platform strategy and roadmap to meet evolving business needs with existing and emerging technical capabilities.
Set platform priorities ranging from functional to technical to user experience.
Promote shared and enterprise-scaled platforms, infrastructure, and services to reduce total cost of ownership, standardize global processes and reduce time to market.
Work effectively as part of a global team, partnering with teams across IT and the business including Product Management, Product Development, Vendor Management and the Products & Engineering Technical Council.
If you share our values, you should have:
Minimum of a High School Diploma
Minimum of 3 years of related experience
Proven leadership ability demonstrated by either directly leading a team or as a matrix leader
Demonstrated experience setting and evolving technology strategy (preferably Cloud strategy)
Software Development experience and/or experience leading a team of Software Development professionals
Strong communication and collaboration skills including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
Excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills with the ability to evolve strategy based on research, data and industry trends
Successful record of building and improving operational processes and procedures, ability to drive program efficiency and high levels of customer satisfaction
Results oriented, delivery focus
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills, can flourish handling multiple tasks, workload, changing priorities, and tight deadlines; ability to assess a problem and determine an effective course of action with sustainable solution
Bonus points for:
Experience working with open source software development technologies like AWS and/or Google Cloud
