POSITION TITLE: Director, Human Resources - Biologics division
DEPARTMENT: Human Resources
MANAGER: Vice President, Human Resources
This key HR leadership position provides effective management of the Human Resources function and supports the achievement of multi-site and Biologics divisional objectives. This position can significantly contribute to the division’s productivity and innovation through activities such as talent acquisition and development, strategic leadership consultation, partnership and advice.
Strategic Planning, Organizational Development and Design– Supports multi-site divisional objectives by creating plans to support the growth of the business in key areas such as organizational design, recruitment, talent development strategies and succession planning. Partners with site and divisional leadership to assure successful implementation of Biologics divisional strategy in the mainland US. Takes accountability for ensuring that site specific plans are implemented in an efficient and effective manner.
Management Coaching– Provides support and guidance to US site leadership teams by recommending appropriate actions to support best practices to assure delivery and growth of the Biologics business. Develops strong partnerships across sites and assures harmonized processes and policies are in place and appropriately monitored.
Leadership and Supervision –Leads, mentors, develops and provides ongoing guidance and direction for the site based HR teams on daily work activities. Provides training and technical advice to the HR team in various areas of regulatory compliance; monitors and provides guidance.
Talent Acquisition and Development – Actively partners with Talent platform leaders; involved on an ongoing basis in the search for key Biologics talent to support the multi-site operation. Supports talent development using available platform and site based initiatives. Ensures that the most qualified and top talents are sourced for the mainland Biologics US sites.
Communication & Administration – Assures clear communication and early escalation of issues; works well in a matrixed relationship reporting in to North American Human Resources, Bio Division Human Resources and Sr. leadership at the site; is a strong verbal and written communicator.
Demonstrated track record of strong leadership and business development in progressively challenging Human Resources roles.
B.A. or B.S. degree in Business, Human Resources or equivalent related education and experience and a minimum of ten years of Human Resources exposure in a site or multi site role required, master’s level preferred.
Excellent working knowledge of HR principles, practices and standard processes as typically acquired through related HR experiences. Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Ability to think strategically along with strong capabilities in relationship management, business process analysis, design, documentation, and project management required.
Must demonstrate advanced problem solving skills and be a self-starter, willing to take initiative. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and ensure that workflow and administrative requirements are accomplished in an organized, efficient and timely manner. An ability to work independently or in a team and to handle multiple deadline driven tasks in a dynamic environment is essential.
