Monsanto Senior Data Security Analyst in ST. LOUIS, Missouri

Monsanto currently has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Data Security Analyst within the Global Information Security Office located in St. Louis, MO. You will be responsible for analyzing, implementing, monitoring, and evolving the Data Security program for the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong data security skills and have a proven familiarity with Corporate IT systems & platforms, risk management and policies and standards compliance. We are looking for qualified talent who are familiar with data security practices, capabilities, and technologies. The successful candidate will be able to manage multiple priorities to enhance the security of the organization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Accountable for partnering and collaborating with stakeholders, IT and Business Teams on data security

  • Align data security standards and practices with business goals and objectives

  • Identify opportunities to improve technical controls and recommend both tactical and strategic solutions  

  • Assist in defining and driving data security strategy through projects, influence, and remediation activities

  • Document assigned areas of program, deployment plans, and supporting control requirements

  • Aid in the management, evaluation, recommendations, remediation, and tracking of risks (policy exceptions and those identified by the team)

  • Demonstrate flexibility to accommodate a dynamic work environment 

  • Embrace continuous development in support of new or evolving technologies and processes 

Required Education and Skills/Experience:

  • Must have one of the following:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and at least 5 years of related work experience, OR

  • High School Diploma and at least 8 years related work experience

  • At least 3-5 years of experience with Security Architecture, Engineering, or Compliance/Risk Management

  • Experience with assessment, development, implementation, optimization, and documentation of a comprehensive and broad set of data security technologies and processes (such as access management, data classification, lifecycle management, data loss prevention, file security/integrity, encryption, rights management, etc.) within cloud and on premise environments

  • Working knowledge of industry standard security control frameworks (ISO 27000, NIST, etc.)

  • Experience with enterprise applications (architecture, development, support, and troubleshooting)

  • Experience performing threat modeling and design reviews to assess security implications and requirements

  • Experience representing technical viewpoints to diverse audiences and in making timely and prudent technical risk decisions

  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and respond to rapidly changing requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as proficiency in meeting facilitation

  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with technical and non-technical individuals, including senior management

  • Must possess sharp attention to detail, critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Proven organizational skills (time management and prioritization) and ability to employ a rigorous process for all follow-up/coordination activities

  • Ability to work independently and in a cross functional team

  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve technical controls and recommend both tactical and strategic solutions

  • Self-starter with a sense of urgency who takes ownership and responsibility for projects and initiatives

  • Office 365 Compliance Center Management and Reporting

  • Data classification tool enablement (AWS Macie, Azure Information Protection, etc.)

  • Data scrubbing tool implementation
