Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Production support/troubleshooting: Facilitate troubleshooting and defect resolution. This includes requesting resources, migration through environments and ticket management. Effectively communicates status of enhancements, change requests and defects. May manage change, defect and enhancement request process and assignment of approved work. Documentation and Training: Maintains documentation of current state systems. Assists in development of training materials and business implementation/transition activities. Evaluates requests for projects and enhancements. May make recommendations for operational process improvements and/or system enhancements. Elicits documents and validates requirements for change requests and enhancements to capabilities, products or systems. May act as project manager for enhancements or new functionality. Helps identify appropriate subject matter experts and stakeholders to participate in requirements sessions. Utilizes business and system knowledge to support business needs. Applies knowledge of a particular business capability, product and/or system domain and communicates impact of changes to current state business process, products, data, feeds and systems. May provide input into departmental or divisional planning process. Provides subject matter expertise and capabilities to Business and IT Projects. Simultaneously support multiple projects as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.

Marketing Description:

PREPARATION AND PARTICIPATION IN PROJECT INCREMENT PLANNING:

•Provide guidance for story definition, estimation and sequencing with the team.

•Primary ownership for maintaining and understanding Project Backlog.

•Assist in the increment planning and objectives.

ITERATION EXECUTION:

•Backlog Refinement – Responsible for building and maintaining the feature team backlog.

•Iteration Planning – Review and prioritize the team backlog and coordinate content dependencies. Provide story detail, priorities, and accept final iteration plans.

•Collaborate with SME’s and others as needed resolve questions and issues.

•Accepting Stories – work with BA’s to accept stories as done via acceptance criteria.

•Work closely with the tech lead and architect to understand key technical dependencies.

•Participate in Team Demo and Retrospective.

•Address and resolve team impediments.

PROJECT EXECUTION:

•Coordinate UAT efforts working with QA Team

•Communication with Product Manager regarding iteration and project status, issues, blockers, post-implementation needs.

•Planning for implementation release schedule.

•Coordination of other project stream releases in the Program.

•Release management coordination

•Creation of release materials and training documents.

•Execution and coordination of training events.

•Monitor use and understanding of application project post-implementation, and re-address materials and training approach as needed.

PROGRAM EXECUTION:

•Coordinate content dependencies with other Project Leaders/Product Owners.

•Participate in producing the System Demo of completed features.

•Participate in reviewing and contributing to the Agile artifacts – Vision, Roadmap, and content presentations, and understand and contribute to the overall BU strategic vision for the organization, and its connection to technology projects.

•As directed, collaborate with designated business team members to participate in the generation of original business scope requirements for the BU roadmap for specific projects, and define business issues and opportunities.

SUPPORT OF TECHNOLOGY INITIATIVES TEAM:

•Display the ability to obtain, filter, interpret and apply information to make appropriate decisions to meet the strategic goals of the BU as well as BSI as a whole.

•Partner with IT and other colleagues to implement improvements to the Agile process as it is adopted across BSI.

•Provide backup for and assistance to others in the unit to ensure a consistent level of business support to technical staff.

Job Summary:

Serves as the business lead to drive the execution of IT projects for Management Liability. Works directly with a feature team on the Management Liability Agile Release Train, while also engaging with Product Manager, Portfolio Managers, business SME’s, senior leadership, and other stakeholders.

Under limited supervision, the Product Owner Specialist collaborates with business partners and technology owners using SAFe (Agile) process to priortize system/application features, change requests, enhancements and defects and communicating results. The Product Owner Specialist possesses strong knowledge of a particular Management Liability business capability, product, or system domain and is aware of business and technology strategies that affect their domain. The Product Owner Specialist is also responsible to assess and communicate impacts of changes to the environment. Must be able to bring together a diverse stakeholder group, drive consensus and create a shared understanding between the customer community and the solution delivery team.

Strategically, the Product Owner Specialist is responsible for effectively delivering value to customers and the Business through the delivery of technology solutions to business and customer issues. The Product Owner Specialist is a key participant in the portfolio, product, release, and sprint planning activities. Through those activities the Product Owner Specialist is responsible for managing tasks for development of a feature part of a larger Project or Program. The Product Owner Specialist controls planning and execution of the tasks or sub-Projects activities and resources to ensure that established business value, cost, time, and quality goals are met.

This job typically does not have human resources responsibilities, but should act as a team lead of Agile Feature team coordinating backlog of user stories. The Product Owner Specialist may provide direction, coaching and mentoring to less experienced team members and assist Portfolio Managers in technology initiative projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

5 years of business operations, analysis, development testing, or similar experience.

Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

Management Liability underwriting experience.

Project Management and/or Business Analysis experience.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge:

Bachelors degree in Business, MIS, or other related field preferred. Three years of experience supporting business technology systems preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. One year of experience supporting business technology systems required.
