Sr. Python Developer - (AI / ML, Big Data, Cloud)
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
As an AI Data Engineer
Data Acquisition, Prep and Exploration:
Performing complex data analysis, assessment, and design at an expert level.
Leads investigation and resolution efforts for high impact data defects and problems.
Ensures work complies with Travelers standards, processes, and protocols.
Identifies gaps, escalating issue to manager.
Develops and applies complex data derivations, business transformation rules, and data requirements.
Collaborates with project team to identify, estimate, and prioritize project and/or enhancement activities.
Creates complex (technology and features) data visualizations techniques to help support data exploration.
Data Solutions & Analytics Implementations:
Collaborates to develop strategic data solutions including transformation logic, rules, tables, as well as business requirements, governance, and specifications.
Manages the operationalizing and automation of more complex data (more systems, data sets and streams, size of data sets more substantial) products into business.
Leads integration of analytic data products, including pilots and proof of concepts.
Applies knowledge of current industry trends and techniques to formulate solutions within the context of assigned projects and/or enhancements.
Frequently presents and translates complex information in relevant business terms.
Ensures business and data users are properly trained on data products/analytic environment. Identifies training opportunities.
Data Strategy and Execution:
Develops and executes data strategies and identifies platform and application infrastructure needs.
Ability to work well and build consensus among a diverse group of stakeholders to create alignment from a delivery and support perspective.

5+ years of experience with common data science toolkits such as Python, R etc.
Experience in one or more Data visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik and Query languages such as SAS, SQL, Hive
Exposure to AWS or other cloud computing services needed
Experience working with big data technology of HDFS, Pig, Hive, Spark, Scala etc. preferred
Exposure to Machine Learning Algorithms is preferred
Preferred qualification of a bachelor's degree and further education or experience in engineering, computer science or other technical related field.
Education, Work Experience & Knowledge:
7 years of programming/development experience preferred. Experience as a technical lead preferred.
Operates standard office equipment. Requires extended periods of computer use. Requires extended periods of sitting.
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or its equivalent in work experience, and five years of programming/development experience.
