The Nuclear Medicine Supervisor /Radiation Safety Officer plans and facilitates the daily workflow in the Nuclear Medicine Department and performs routine Nuclear Medicine procedures. In conjunction with the Department Director /Manager– assumes responsibility for the overall daily personnel and patient functions of the modality. He/ she participates in the on-call schedule as assigned.
TheNuclear Medicine Supervisor /Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) is responsible for implementation of the Radiation Safety Program at Northside Hospital & Tampa Bay Heart Institute. In that capacity, the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor/ RSO ensures that all activities involving radioactive materials and equipment capable of producing ionizing and non-ionizing radiation are performed in accordance with approved policies and regulatory requirements. This includes maintaining compliance with the facility’s Radioactive Materials License and applicable Department of Health Control of Radiation Hazard Regulations. Including but not limited to the definition of 64E-5.605.

Must have current certification.
Florida license required.
Current American Heart Association certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider required.
Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
