AECOM Department Head Civil Infrastructure in Stockholm, Sweden

AECOM Nordics continues to grow and we are looking to hire a Department Head for the Civil Infrastructure Business line in our Stockholm office.
The Department Head will play a critical role in providing project direction and business development in infrastructure engineering together with project management and control for allocated projects. While the Department Head will be largely focused on local project work, there will be interaction and leadership required at a regional level as well.
The Department Head forms part of the management team to lead, develop and produce quality product and staff as well as undertake to implement practice plans and project requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years experience in the area of expertise and also 5 years experience within the Nordics. The candidate will have prior experience in a similar role, demonstrating excellent technical capabilities and proven experience in successfully managing multidisciplinary infrastructure engineering teams.
Key Duties include:
Acting as a representative of AECOM in general and more specifically in relation to relevant speciality areas of infrastructure engineering.
Working with other personnel (both staff and contractors) to complete work in accordance with the budget and timelines for the client.
Attending and leading client briefings and present project stages and work to the client throughout the project.
Undertaking any work in accordance with the scope of the proposal as agreed by the client and within the associated budget parameters.
Working closely with the client, sub contractors and stakeholders to deliver high quality product in a timely manner.
Attending briefings with the client to review project plans, and resolve any conflicts in design or parameters of the work.
Ensuring accuracy of work in accordance with project scope within project parameters and client.
Meeting with and report to the Business Managers/ project accountants on a regular basis to track projects progress against the budget.
Implementing and using AECOM’s Quality Management (QM) system within all project work.
Liaising with the AECOM team on a global scale with regard to such issues as finalising Memorandum Of Agreement (MOA) Mentor, challenging and growing staff to create a high level of creativity and enthusiasm.
Delegating aspects of projects to team members and oversee their delivery in a timely and accurate manner with agreed quality standards Issue invoices and resolve overdue payment when required in consultation with the Group Services and in accordance with AECOM standards.
Reporting regularly on project progress and proposed projects to the Management team.
Participating in regional and firmwide committees or forums as required.
Key skills include:
Extensive experience in the management of projects from proposal development to completion, including periodic project reviews.
Strong client management skills.
Strong financial (Profit and Loss, cash collection, commercial, contractual) and budget management skills.
Exceptional communication and influencing ability.
Fluency in Swedish and English is required.
