Our greatest asset has been and will continue to be our people. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individuals to fill the position of Mechanical Integrity Inspector within our Permian EOR group based in Midland, TX.

The primary function of this role is to execute/implement the OP EOR MI program requirements for the areas of responsibility. This includes preventative maintenance program management, conducting internal/external inspections and coordination of NDE technicians. This position is also accountable for hold points related to the MI QA/QC program for repairs, new fabrication, installation, and shop fabrication of MI covered equipment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that assigned inspection work is completed per set target dates

Communicate and ensure compliance with Oxy standards and best practices

  • Present recommendations and approval request to construction leads, and contract QC

  • Participate in annual and long term MI program planning

  • Participate in PSM, Insurance, HES QA/QC program and other audits

  • Participate in staffing plans/forecast to ensure adequate staffing levels are available to support the MI program objectives

  • Execute and/or manage programs, systems and practices for maintaining & enhancing a safe, productive, and environmentally sound work environment

  • Develop repair plans for pressure vessel, piping, and tank, heaters and flares

  • Perform required MI QA/QC steps for repairs, new field / shop construction and equipment installation

  • Participates in fitness for service evaluations, re-rates, alterations

  • Perform required steps for data review and approval in the IDMS (Credo)

  • Participate in the implementation of software tools essential to managing the MI programs

  • Participate in planned or unplanned OP EOR Plant / Field outages

  • Participate in the deficiency management program

  • Participate in the risk-based inspection (RBI) program

  • Participate in the development of MI budgets

  • Coordinate contract API / NDE Technicians for their area of responsibility

  • Participate in area safety meetings

  • Follow Plant / Field safe work practices (LOTO, confined space entry, hot work, etc.)

  • Ensure that safety training is up to date for themselves and assigned contract inspectors

  • Communicate MI program status to respective Mechanical Integrity Team Lead and Asset/Plant Team Leads

  • Participate in the review and reporting of the KPI’s



High school diploma or equivalent

Professional/Technical Knowledge:

Working knowledge of API, ASME, and NACE standards required

Professional/Technical Qualifications/Licences/Certifications:

Valid driver’s Licence

API 510 required

API 570, 653, 571, and 580 Preferred

NACE certification Preferred

CWI Preferred


10 years’ experience as an API Inspector in the refinery, petrochemicals, oil/gas, pipeline, and turnaround industries


5 years’ experience as an NDE technician/API Inspector in the refinery, petrochemicals, oil/gas, pipeline, and turnaround industries

Skills & Competencies:

• Knowledge of MOC and PSSR programs

• Working knowledge of OSHA PSM 1910.119 standard requirements

• Strong knowledge of industrial safe work systems

• Strong knowledge of fixed equipment construction codes and practices (piping, pressure vessels, tanks)

• Working knowledge of material specifications and application

• Ability to perform under pressure and high paced environments at times

• Excellent Communication skills (written/verbal)
