How will you make an impact?

The Chemistry Test Engineer II is tasked to evaluate and test products during Product Development stage from original concept through post-production to verify that they function according to specifications and standards.

In this role they will apply their Ion Chromatography and Analytical Chemistry experience in both executing established test protocols and in collaborating with Development Engineers to define and execute diagnostic and troubleshooting tests.

What will you do?

  • Tests products and compares observed performance to specifications and documentation.

  • Identifies, analyzes, and documents defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in product performance.

  • Creates new test procedures and test cases for new functionality.

  • Recommends program improvements or revisions as appropriate.

  • Contributes to the establishment of standards and procedures for program design and testing.

  • Establishes benchmarks for product performance.

  • Identifies product variances from standards and suggests modifications to conform.

  • Assists Manufacturing in developing FOQ protocols and training manufacturing staff in executing those protocols.

  • Reviews and contributes to the product documentation.

  • Installs, maintains, and uses testing software programs.

  • Responds to inquiries from technical support regarding functions and operations of software programs.

  • Reviews computer logs and reports to identify program processing errors and possible improvements.

  • Documents, tracks, and communicates test plans, test results, analysis, and unresolved problems.

  • Participates in product design specification review process.

How will you get here?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (B.S. or B.A.) or equivalent and at least two years related experience and/or training; or

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry (M.S. or M.A.) or equivalent and limited related experience and/or training.

Experience

  • Experienced in Ion Chromatography operation.

  • Experienced and proficient in all Microsoft applications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Able to collaborate with other members of Test Engineering for the execution of testing assignments.

  • Able to provide test results to others in verbal and written form.

  • Able to demonstrate failure and error conditions to Development Engineers.

  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Able to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of engineers and managers
