Verizon’s Yahoo Small Business (YSB) group creates digital solutions that enable small and medium businesses to build, manage, and grow online. Our services include website building, domain management, website hosting, dynamic local listing, e-commerce, and business mail. We also manage a complementary suite of apps covering actionable live web insights, application/developer platform, real time traffic tracking and analytics, recommendations, provisioning management, subscription/billing management, and merchant solutions.

We are looking for a Head of Marketing to drive and oversee marketing initiatives across 5 streams - acquisition, social media/email, insights and analytics, events/PR, and product marketing. You’ll be responsible for planning and building out Verizon’s YSB’s overall marketing strategy to influence the way Verizon’s YSB’s small business digital solutions are positioned in the North American market. Your responsibilities span a wide spectrum of b2b marketing activities from assessing new marketing channels and measuring ROI on all marketing activities, formalizing social media and advertising campaigns, messaging, and event strategy. You will also collaborate with product managers to develop go-to-market strategy for new products and features.

  • Defining and growing Verizon’s YSB’s b2b digital solutions marketing strategy for small business in North American markets.

  • Growing and leading a team of 10 marketers across acquisition, social media/email, events/PR, and product marketing.

  • Identifying and developing critical metrics to gather insight and analytics into performance by marketing activities/channels/campaigns and determining the right growth and positioning opportunities for Verizon’s YSB.

  • Developing marketing collateral for external distribution - collateral could include print material such as factsheets, sales training content, PR messaging or video content such as customer success stories - and internal marketing performance reports to senior management on a monthly and quarterly basis.

  • Collaborating across different functional groups (Finance, Legal, Business, Product Management) and key stakeholders to address critical marketing deliverables.

You have the ability to build collaboration, and drive strategic direction by raising visibility of trends, issues, and opportunities across the organization. No stranger to working in a constantly changing environment, you convey a sense of urgency and juggle and prioritize multiple tasks with ease, never missing a deadline.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Leadership experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a leading university; ideally your MBA.

  • Eight or more years of professional experience, with four or more years of experience in a leadership role.

  • Proven track record in initiating and driving industry-leading marketing strategy in an established technology company.

  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial and operational experience in managing teams of more than 6 to identify marketing and advertising opportunities, associated risks, and ways to increase marketing ROI.

  • Proven business acumen, innovation and effective communication skills, comfort in managing multiple projects concurrently and working in a fast paced environment with a high-energy team.

  • Demonstrated excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills, proven ability to interpret data to provide recommendations and develop strategies to the vast leadership teams.

  • Passion for small businesses, entrepreneurship, and startups.

  • Familiarity with sales and marketing for small and medium business clients.

  • Demonstrated creativity the proven capability to execute on ideas.

  • Combination of in-house and agency marketing experience.
