Manages a team supporting and/or implementing software project(s) and/or internal systems. Defines, documents and manages scope, expectations, implementation approach, deliverables and acceptance testing criteria.

Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas or sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Successful track record in applications implementation and as a manager. Expert knowledge of all applications within a business area; plus some knowledge of other applications. BA/BS degree preferred.

Oracle s Cloud Operations PaaS group is looking fortalented Cloud Operations Engineers with expert level experience in supportingsystems built on a mix of Oracle technologies and Open Sourcetechnologies. As a contributing member of a globally distributed team,you will be responsible for the deployment and support of internally developedservices/applications supporting the various PaaS portfolios. This is aunique, ground floor opportunity to work on cutting edge platforms in supportof Oracle s growing Cloud Services.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Level 2 ownership of run-timemanagement functions for Oracle PaaS External Compute Services ensuring thehighest levels of availability and performance for customer service levels.

Operational ownership in the support of escalatedissues from Oracle Customer Support working to resolve customer issues usingOracle PaaS services.

Collaborate with other operational anddevelopment teams during triage and resolution of operational issues.

Document common problem patterns and createknowledge base articles to improve customer self service capabilities andresolution times.

Open and track development bugs related to MyOracle Support (MOS) Service Requests.

Handle customer escalations and provide support.

Required Skills:

3-5 years of experience supporting productionenvironments on Linux/Java/Oracle Database platforms.

Previous experience in large scale Incident andProblem Management (ITIL based operational model) highly desirable.

Strong ability to analyze and solve operationalproblems across functional components.

Strong ability to understand virtual cloudarchitectures and layered application and database services with the ability tologically determine root cause of an issue.

Exposure to virtualization concepts andtechnologies like Oracle Virtual Machines or Xen is highly desirable.

Willingness to learn new technologies.

Desire to provide exceptional customersupport.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Prior experience as a Cloud Operations Engineeror DevOps Engineer.

Certification(s) in a Linux administration inany distribution.

Experience with large scale customer supportsystems and processes (e.g. service request systems such as MOS, CX, Remedy)

Experience with large scale system managementand monitoring tools (e.g. Oracle Enterprise Manager, Kibana, Logstash, RealUser Experience Insight (RUEI), ThousandEyes)
