Oracle Product Manager/Strategy 4-ProdDev in Sunnyvale, California
Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.
As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

This position is for a role on the Linux product management team. This position requires:
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong technical skills, with knowledge about Linux and open source software
Background in software used to manage systems at a large scale
Background in software used for provisioning and configuration management such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef is preferred.
Background in cloud computing, with experience in projects involving concepts such as Infrastructure as Code is desirable
A background in Windows server management is desirable
Strong organization and time management skills. Candidate must be capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines concurrently and independently
A minimum of 5 years product management experience (required)
In this role, the candidate will work closely with a team of product managers to develop a new OS management solution for Oracle Cloud. The candidate will be responsible for developing use cases and creating requirements using input from multiple sources (customer requests, strategic vision and competitive market analysis). Candidate will collaborate with supporting groups (engineering, QA, documentation, marketing and sales) across Oracle to organize milestones and roadmaps to ensure execution of the business strategy for delivery of features. This is a fast-paced project and will require the candidate to effectively self-manage their tasks under aggressive schedules and deadlines.
The candidate must feel comfortable engaging with engineering at a technical level to help drive design decisions and final deliverables. In addition, candidate will be responsible for supporting the Outbound product management and marketing teams in the development of collateral involving go-to-market activities, including activities such as creating and delivering customer presentations, webcasts, podcasts and whitepapers.
