US Foods Senior HR Director (Northeast) in Swedesboro, Pennsylvania
The Senior HR Director for the Northeast will serve as a trusted, strategic advisor to Region & Area Presidents, the Regional Teams, and drives field execution to support business objectives consistent with organization values. They ensure alignment of HR strategy with business objectives, serves as the primary senior HR liaison for the Area Presidents, the HR leaders and Regional field leaders on matters affecting the region and will consult with Area Presidents to optimize effectiveness, team cohesiveness, and ensure effective business decision making particularly related to the human assets of the business. In addition, the Senior HR Director will conduct Area Employee Relations needs analysis and matches HR solutions to identified gaps, serve as a senior escalation point on employee relations issues of significant complexity and collaborate with HR functional leaders in the Support Office on policy development and interpretation and provides input on program standardization.
Collaborate with Business Leaders to influence business strategy based on a deep understanding of the business implications for the organization.
Participate in key meetings with Business Leaders to bring HR expertise to business/operational discussions with linkage to HR strategy and business objectives.
Collaborate with appropriate HR and other teams to ensure new policies, plans, programs, and processes are effectively communicated and implemented within the business.
Drive improvement in overall team performance and direct talent planning / management which includes: 1.) supporting employee performance improvement planning—including plan development, counseling, and follow-up— for Senior Staff and 2.) working with Area senior team to facilitate the completion of the annual TAP process.
Conduct investigations of complex Employee Relations and HR matters.
Advise Business Leaders on complex employee relations issues and manage risk effectively. Participate in the termination approval process as necessary.
Support culture change initiatives and establish key change management strategies for business-related events impacting human capital.
Based on the business strategy, work with Business Leaders to identify, design, and implement appropriate organizational structures and key capabilities required to achieve business objectives. Complete workforce analysis for any RIF process. Work with legal to assess risk.
Review HR Dashboard; analyze and identify trends in key people metrics that have implications for the business.
Drive effective Employee Relations activities designed to promote a positive work environment.
Facilitate and follow up on the development of implementation of action plans designed to address issues surfaced through employee surveys—either locally driven or corporate driven.
Provide insight into Area specific needs for training to centralized talent management team.
Utilize Key Process Indicators (KPIs) to help assure opportunities to improve the employee relations environment.
Travel required 40 – 50%.

Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, or equivalent work experience required. PHR or SPHR certification strongly preferred.
Related Experience: A minimum of 10 years of increasingly responsible HR experience, including support for senior level business leaders
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Experience in process-based Employee Relations strongly preferred. Experience in a labor intensive industry that is highly dependent on employee and team performance strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to build relationships at senior levels as well as deeper into the organization. Must have direct experience leading HR at a multi-site level supervising remote teams.
Incumbent will be in the office in the hub of the region that they will be supporting.
