The Pre Sales Consultant, also referred to as a Client Solution Professional or IBM CSP, is a member of our Watson Customer Experience Business Unit technology sales team and primarily provides product and technology expertise, demo configuration and delivery, industry knowledge, and RFP support to the IBM Commerce Sales teams with the goal of assisting in the closing of sales opportunities. As an IBM CSP you'll be the "technology bridge" between Sales & Customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Proactively and effectively identify customer needs, understand business issues and drivers behind specific request.
Build & deliver business relevant presentations & demonstrations to customers and prospects by matching specific client business requirements into effective technical solutions, ensuring trust and business value is established.
Act as a commerce subject matter expert possessing the knowledge and expertise of IBM’s Commerce portfolio.
Understand the market shifts from traditional brick and mortar to digital stores, the associated challenges and opportunities this presents.
Work closely with IBM Product Marketing and Management teams to stay current on all product features and offerings.
Provide feedback to IBM Product Marketing on client needs and industry trends for product enhancements.
Discuss & demonstrate the technical architecture and integration model.
Assist in the preparation of RFP responses and deliver technical and sales oriented presentations to customer’s technical staff and senior management.
Recognised as technical POC and technology/commerce expert by customers.
Maintain high level knowledge of competitive product lines, especially as it relates to technical strengths and weaknesses of the competitor's products.
Provide continuous knowledge transfer to the sales force regarding technical aspects and benefits of the IBM Commerce Solutions for Marketing.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of four (4) years of related industry experience as a pre-sales engineer, developer, or consultant.
Minimum of two (2) years of pre or post-sales experience with a software vendor who is focused on delivering SaaS solutions.
Experience with solutions such as WebSphere Commerce, Sterling Order Management, Configure Price and Quote or competitive technologies and e-commerce infrastructure products.
Well-versed in web, network computing, and integration technologies.
Comfortable discussing: Commerce solution architecture and underlying technologies.
Software implementation project experience.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND TRAVEL:
Bachelor degree or equivalent in MIS, Computer Science, or an engineering discipline required.
Minimum of 30% domestic travel (Australia & New Zealand) required.
