The Director, Education Services - JAPAC plays a critical role in achieving this objective by:

Growing and shaping the NetSuite Education Services footprint in the JAPAC region through close collaboration with internal business partners including Sales, Marketing and Professional Services

Owning the strategy and success of all sales and delivery of training services to NetSuite customers and partners within the region

Leading a regional team that works collaboratively with customers to help them build product knowledge, increase user adoption and achieve ROI by creating, planning and managing the delivery of high-quality enablement strategies for new and install base customers

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and Continuously Develop a High Performing Team

  • Responsible for recruiting, training, staffing, career development and performance management of the JAPAC education services team

  • Design and execute an effective organizational structure, updating as needed based on regional growth

  • Ensure timely team readiness to support new product releases and geographic expansion

  • Oversee all activities of the regional training team and provide direction, motivation and guidance

  • Develop or identify expertise-building opportunities for team members

  • Provide direct mentorship to managers

  • Ensure that quality standards for sales and delivery are exceeded

  • Encourage high standards of performance and inspire others to define new opportunities and continuously improve the organization

  • Manage to Education Services Team Financial Goals

  • Work with the global leadership team to achieve our overall educational objectives

  • Develop a long-term strategy, timeline, and budget for our educational initiatives in JAPAC

  • Evaluate opportunities/investments and develop strategies for expansion into new markets including localisation and translation considerations

  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the regional sales, marketing and services business as the Education leadership representative

  • Champion our value proposition internally and to potential and current clients

  • Provide accurate forecasting for revenue and resource capacity planning

  • Provide custom learning blends of onsite and online training, education consulting, user adoption, and performance support solutions for customers and partners

  • Expand education sales in existing customer base

  • Ensure team billable utilization targets and practice revenue targets are met via effective resource allocation and collaboration with other education leadership

  • Closely communicate with marketing, sales and professional services to maximize profitable growth potential across our customer base

  • Work closely with the sales organization to provide strategic and tactical enablement and support in achieving education revenue goals, as well as NetSuite Annual Recurring Revenue goals

  • Ensure High Customer Satisfaction and Referencability

  • Manage project portfolio to ensure quality, on-time and on-budget deliveries using a mix of own team and global resources

  • Serve as the escalation point for resolving customer contractual, implementation, and ongoing customer success issues

  • Collaborate and communicate with NetSuite consulting and partners during services engagements

  • Quickly achieve high level knowledge of NetSuite and our education and user adoption solutions

  • Develop managers and high performing individual contributors to be able to provide advising, strategy, planning and training project management services to large clients

  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction with education services and relentlessly pursue new ways of bringing value to our customers

  • Maintain and Enhance Education Best Practices Infrastructure

  • Design and implement incremental innovations, new programs, and operational capabilities that advance the mission of the Education Services team

  • Manage processes to gather, track, analyze, report and monitor regional business operation metrics

  • Provide feedback to education program management to ensure curriculum and asset quality

  • Champion special projects to support business process, team and tool improvements

  • Support global regions to align delivery models and to manage multi-national clients

  • Travel: up to 30%

Qualifications/Skills include:

  • Excellent people management skills, including successful experience leading and growing an Education or Professional Services department for an enterprise software company across a diverse and broad JAPAC region

  • Exceptional skills designing and presenting solutions, articulating value propositions, negotiating project specifics, and managing delivery to maximize both revenue potential and customer success in a consulting/training practice

  • Proven track record of juggling business development, customer delivery and people management skills

  • Success working with customers (and alongside implementers) to develop and manage user enablement, change management, and/or end user adoption solutions

  • Ability to balance customer demands with aggressive revenue and profitability objectives

  • Leadership abilities to motivate and focus the regional organization on team and individual objectives

  • Proven ability to lead a team through change

  • Outstanding communication skills; presentation, written, verbal, listening, and influencing; in particular, an ability to adapt communication to a variety of audiences and diverse group of stakeholders

  • Strong customer relationship acumen; comfortable interacting with all levels

  • Successful resource allocation, timeline and project management experience

  • Ability to work effectively and cross functionally with professional services, sales, and partners; earning trust and building relationships throughout leadership chain

  • Strong team player with the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously

  • A dedication to client service, client management skills and ability to drive client satisfaction in ever changing environments

  • The ability to think and act independently in complex and fast-paced situations

  • Proactive approach and desire to launch and successfully execute new initiatives

  • Experience with CRM/ERP software. Consulting and management experience in a SaaS environment is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalency or achievement of recognized professional level

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Customizes and delivers education services to external customers.

The Delivery Director is responsible for delivery of departmental results through successful direction and management of staff and resources, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction. Also responsible for the fiscal management of their business area, the development of annual budgets, weekly forecasts and overall expense management. Establishes and communicates departmental objectives and oversees plans to assure attainment. Develops and manages to approved budget, ensures proper utilization of resources and authorizes departmental expenditures. Participates in the strategic planning function for the delivery organization. Recommends strategies and improvement ideas to senior management.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Masters Degree or equivalent experience preferred. Has 5 plus years of experience teaching adult learners. Has 10 plus years of industry experience, including 5 plus years of technical or professional experience (education preferred) in addition to 5 plus years of experience in a management or other leadership role.
