Eaton Corporation Maintenance Supervisor 2nd Shift in Syracuse, New York
Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for 2nd Shift to join our team. This position is based at our Syracuse, New York facility.
The Maintenance Supervisor is accountable to organize, plan, oversee and coordinate the efforts of hourly employees engaged in a variety of factory maintenance activities in order to meet established maintenance schedules and to ensure the most effective utilization of personnel and equipment. The Maintenance Supervisor role is a critical position due to the diverse manufacturing processes and automation in our facility.

You will plan jobs and coordinate efforts of employees to effectively meet maintenance schedules to produce desired results. Check condition of equipment and obtain needed repairs, requisition parts, materials and supplies, as necessary.
You will enforce safety rules, maintain discipline and settle grievances within grievance procedure. Investigate cause of scrap, or maintenance delays attributable to machinery condition or faulty workmanship and take corrective action.
You will maintain manufacturing systems and equipment in assigned area of responsibility at optimum operating level and at minimum cost.
You will prepare cost estimates for labor and material on new equipment installations or rearrangement projects; normally works from blueprints, specifications and detailed job plan. Prepare material and installation specifications for contract maintenance work.
You will devise an implement non-capital cost reduction projects to meet established goal level. Maintain a safe, clean and healthy work environment consistent with established policies and procedures.
You will select and oversee training of employees of own group; assign work and appraise performance; take disciplinary action and recommend dismissal as necessary. Approves time cards and various operations forms, including job tickets and maintain records and prepare reports as required.
You will participate in Safety, Continuous Improvement and Management Development programs. The incumbent in this position may supervise second and third shifts through other foreman, when required. Coordination with Engineering and other manufacturing departments or outside vendors.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Associate's degree from an accredited institution required.
Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing and/or operations environment.
Minimum 2 years of leadership/supervisory experience.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
No relocation provided. Candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius from the Syracuse, NY facility to be considered.
Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience supervising skilled trades in a union shop environment.
Experience with SAP.
Experience managing outside service contractors.
Position Success Criteria:
Strong electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
Strong ability to troubleshoot and program programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Proven safety track record with experience in developing and implementing safety programs.
Ability to deal with ambiguity and make sound decisions.
