The Office of the Chief Data Officer is charged with being the voice of data and generally representing data as a strategic business asset. The primary role of this organization is to champion the use of data and information across the firm, and drive changes and improvements in data related operations. This office will help to enable the business, as well as provide insights related to attendant risks.
Significant effort will be dedicated to determining PwC data related needs, and developing proposed solutions. The Chief Data Officer team identifies where, when, how, and why the business uses data, and transforms it into information that serves clients.
The Insights function is to cultivate transparency and deliver clear insight into its portfolio of projects and respective functions/programs with the ultimate intention of facilitating well informed leadership decisions. The primary purpose of this function is to surface insight creating visibility at the strategic level, summarizing holistically our collective body of work, progress against our remit and the realization of benefits on an ongoing basis.
Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 6
Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or GED
Degree Preferred: Bachelor's degree
Certification(s) Preferred: Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, Teaching, PMP
Demonstrates intimate knowledge and/or a proven record of success managing efforts in the following areas:
Understanding big picture concepts and translating strategic level priorities into tangible tactical level actionable objectives;
Leading and managing others including teaching, mentoring and coaching;
Operating with a global mindset in a professional services environment including leading virtual teams and leveraging tools to support flexibility and optimizing efficiency;
Defining and developing metrics and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) monitoring;
Adapting quickly to changing priorities or roles through self-motivation and a service-oriented mindset;
Demonstrating communication and presentation skills and comfortable talking to large groups of people; and,
Identifying and isolating issues with the use of problem solving skills with the ability to quickly separate the important from the unimportant.
Demonstrates intimate abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:
Working in an organized and detail-oriented manner with the ability to create agendas, set up and manage multiple workstreams;
Managing stakeholders, including the ability to work with leaders to understand business problems;
Managing a technical landscape to stay relevant to customers and competitive with the external environment;
Developing and deploying data analysis and visualization solutions / dashboards such as Tableau, Qlikview, Power BI or similar;
Working with complex data manipulation, cleansing, preparation and management such as Alteryx, Paxata, Power Query/Pivot, SQL, MS Access or MS Excel;
Working with Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) techniques and technologies such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Informatica Power Center and knowledge of TIBCO;
Using data storytelling to communicate a message with data and presenting it to maximize ease of consumption;
Translating business terminology into concise tangible requirements; and,
Learning new skills with an investigative mind and a high level of intellectual curiosity towards data, analysis, visualization, and sharing new information with others.
