Oracle Product Marketing Manager - Public Sector in Tarrytown, New York

Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Product Marketing Manager - Public Sector

As a Product Marketing Manager for Public Sector at Oracle Construction and Engineering, you will develop and execute a global go-to-market strategy that connects our high compliance product solutions to customers,drives our global Public Sector marketing strategy, and create broad industry and targeted sub-industry messaging, positioning, content, sales plays, and enablement.

This is a highly specialized role that requires Public Sector domain knowledge across Defense – Federal and Civilian, local, and regional Governments.Expertise required in government challenges and dynamics and enterprise software buying patterns and trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market intelligence—be the expert on our public sector buyers, who are they, how they buy and their key buying criteria. Use market research data to influence product features, pricing and packaging.

  • Understand the competitive landscape—be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned.

  • Collaborate with product management and marketing communications to develop product positioning and messaging that resonate with our target buyer personas and sets our products apart from others in the market to give them a unique selling point.

  • Understand and document our buyer’s process, including where they get information, and the /who/, /what/, /when/ and /why/ behind the decisions they make. Then drive changes to our sales and marketing processes based on what you learn.

  • Plan the launches of net-new products and releases of existing products/SKUs (from a sales perspective) and drive the cross-functional implementation of the plan. Coordinate go to market activities and create sales enablement tools and content such as playbooks, customer facing positioning presentations, strategy and vision deck

  • Understand and support our sales enablement team; train them on the problems we solve for our buyers and users; develop sales tools that facilitate the selling process

  • Speak and present about strategy, cloud story and products to both external and internal audiences.

  • Support the marketing team to develop a marketing plan, including key activities and budgets to support the retention of existing customers and the acquisition of new customers.

  • Assess the effectiveness of the marketing programs that support our products on an ongoing basis, and report back to the business on required changes.

  • Act as one of the primary thought leaders for our products, including speaking engagements and written works.

Requirements

  • 5 years experience in global Public Sector/Government, sales and marketing of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS with strong knowledge and understanding of applicable FedGov IT security policies, protocols and frameworks including DISA SRG, FISMA, NIST, FedRAMP, etc.

  • Strong technological know-how of IT-concepts, software-standards as well as database and networking technologies.

  • Strong working knowledge of DevOps, data science, and AI.

  • Market intelligence—be the expert on our buyers, who are they, how they buy and their key buying criteria. Use market research data to influence product features, pricing and packaging.

  • Understand the competitive landscape—be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned.

  • Collaborate with product management and marketing communications to develop product positioning and messaging that resonate with our target buyer personas and sets our products apart from others in the market to give them a unique selling point. This includes a compelling cloud story and journey to cloud message with variations for different customer patterns.

  • Provides leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology.

  • Contributes to Public Sector industry communities. Identify market segments to define strategy and activities for the industry.

  • Define target markets based on Oracle capabilities and sales coverage.

  • Establishes key relationships with Oracle executives.

  • Responsible for industry sales enablement.

  • Define regional industry growth strategies and develop relationship with regional sales, partner, and marketing teams.

  • Collaborate with Product Development and sales management in targeted countries on strategies and high-level tactics to deliver Oracle solutions that support public sector industry
