Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.
Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

The site reliability engineering team within Oracle Hospitality is a new team formed to transform the way we deliver our cloud services. Our SRE/Devops engineers will be responsible for the building creative engineering solutions to operations problems. The team will focus on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure and eliminating work through automation. The team will spend limited time on operational work, focused on iterative improvement and proactive identification of potential outages.
We are looking for a proven, seasoned engineering manager with skills that span engineering and operations roles.
Lead a small, dedicated team of engineers focus on improving the whole lifecycle of services - from inception and design, through to deployment, operation and refinement.
Be responsible for the overall planning, execution and success of complex technical projects
Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.
Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
BS degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field involving coding (e.g. physics or mathematics), or equivalent practical experience
4 years of software engineering or related experience
Hands-on programming experience in one or more of the following: C, C , Java, Python, Go, Perl, Ruby, shell scripting
Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems internals and administration (e.g. filesystems, nodes, system calls, etc) or networking (e.g. TCP/IP, routing, network topologies and hardware, SDN, etc).
Experience with Windows operating systems administration and management.
Expertise in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
