Our 150-acre campus and 350 bed hospital also features designated specialty centers: the Heart Center, the Tomball Regional Medical Center Wound and Hyperbaric Center, and Texas Sports Medicine Center.
Tomball Regional Medical Center is currently looking for a_Pharmacist – Pharmacy_.
Directs and coordinates the timely filling a delivering of drugs and IV solutions from the pharmacy. Accurately compounds/checks/supervises the mixing of IVs according to physician orders. Checks, dispenses, and documents issuances of controlled substances according to applicable laws and hospital policies. Enters orders, fills, and checks all medication distribution processes, including prepackaging of medications. Ensures that all drugs, IV solutions, and supplies are adequately stocked. Recommends changes and ensures that all policy and procedure changes are communicated and followed. Consults with and advises Medical Staff and patients, when appropriate, concerning information obtained on medications, such as warning issued on drugs currently on the market, incompatibility of certain drugs, or contraindications of drugs or other pharmaceuticals. Reconciles MARs and reviews antibiotic sensitivities on a regular basis. Checks and insures that all floor stock medications are filled and charges reconciled. Assists in Pyxis and Meditech maintenance and upgrades Performs quality-monitoring functions as requested. Provides hands-on, day-to-day supervision and direction for all pharmacy support staff. Promotes positive customer services with internal and external customers. Perform all other job related duties as assigned.
Education Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy, or Pharm. D. Degree from an accredited College Pharmacy required.
Experience: Two years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred. Experience in I.V. admixture and unit dose drug distribution system required. Experience with computerized pharmacy systems required. Good clinical and professional judgment, accuracy, alertness, team work & good communication skills
Licenses/Certificates:* * Currently licensed to practice pharmacy in TX and has complied with all C.E. including Aseptic Techniques 40 hours requirement by Texas State Board of Pharmacy (Aseptic techniques has to be acquired within one year of employment )
