Lead Business Analyst ( 12 month contract )

Target Openings:


Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Collaborate in the development of program roadmaps that effectively deliver business capabilities.

Understand long range business and IT strategies; market, operational and technology trends and current state constraints. Ensure solutions (people, process and technology) meet the program objectives and are aligned with business and IT strategic direction.

Participate in the development of a compelling business case that measure and communicate proposed program benefits.

Collaborate with project leads to develop the strategy on how requirements will be approached and managed for programs and/or projects.

Work with project leads to develop requirements work plans, identify task dependencies across workstreams, develop estimates and determine resource skill requirements; support risk management and change management activities.

Manage program level requirement traceability and changes throughout the project lifecycle.

Measures and tracks quality of business analysis work across large or complex initiatives.

Ensure the test strategy and test plans adequately cover the requirements across initiatives.

Assist in defect resolution.

Provide coaching and mentoring to other analysts and team members to facilitate a better understanding of requirements techniques, processes and deliverables required to support successful project delivery.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

Under general direction, the Lead Business Analyst collaborates with leadership to envision and develop strategies to support technical needs; partnering to drive program wide initiatives while maintaining alignment with program goals.

The Lead BA leads analysis on work streams with executive exposure involving multiple business functions/areas.

The Lead BA is able to independently transition to unfamiliar business and system domains. This job typically acts as a team lead. The Lead BA provides direction to project team members and coaching/mentoring to less experienced team members.

This job is a Team Lead: Directs daily work activities of a small group of employees. Works with higher level manager to set goals/objectives and provides input regarding performance of employees being led. Employees do not typically have formal reporting relationship to a team lead job. This job works under General Direction: Establishes procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives in a broad area of work. Generally final results are reviewed. (Typically applies to a manager or expert/top level professional.

Position Type:


Preferred Qualifications:

Seven years of experience in Business Systems or equivalent preferred.

One year of experience leading technical teams preferred.

Bachelors degree in Business, MIS or other related field preferred.

10+ years experience developing and supporting business technology systems.

5+ years experience in a leadership role on software delivery projects.
