The Manager, Funds Transfer Pricing is responsible for supporting the Corporate Revenue team on technology initiatives. The role is accountable for understanding the end-to-end Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) and Liquidity Transfer Pricing (LTP) process to ensure thoughtful design and successful implementation of technology initiatives. The Manager is also responsible for understanding technical aspects of the FTP and LTP data pipelines, data lineage, calculations, processes, and methodologies. The Manager will partner with various stakeholders across the Bank in the context of leveraging new technology and capabilities for changes to future state data pipelines and business processes.


Provide subject matter expertise on the end-to-end Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) and Liquidity Transfer Pricing (LTP) process in support of technology initiatives

Develop business requirements (including exception treatment) for changes to data pipelines and functional builds (e.g., reconciliation function)

Ability to build current state and future state business process maps

Participates in the system development life-cycle, including requirements change requests, clarifications with developers and quality assurance analysts and guidance for business user acceptance testing (UAT)

Evaluate results from technology initiatives ensuring the system is calculating FTP accurately and according to the agreed upon methodology

Proven use of SQL for analysis and data mining as well as Excel for bespoke reconciliations and investigations

Partner with team members and stakeholder groups on potential redesign of FTP and LTP processes and enhanced analytics as a result of increased technology capabilities

Develop and maintain strong documentation on key FTP and LTP processes and changes

Support the operationalization of FTP and LTP change initiatives to ensure optimal effectiveness and efficiency from a finance perspective

Evaluate/test results from technology initiatives ensuring accurate FTP/LTP calculations according to agreed-upon methodologies

Provides expertise in the design, development, management and implementation of assigned projects from business case development through to execution. Ensures integration of initiatives into ongoing programs.

Works across BMO to deliver specific project/program results in alignment with overall group goals.

Assists in the development of strategic plans.

Participates in setting communication strategy designed to positively influence or change behaviour; develops tailored messaging about the strategic initiatives; and identifies appropriate distribution channels.

Acts as a relationship manager on assigned projects/programs and ensures alignment to overall enterprise and group goals.

Develops solutions and makes recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.

Participates in project/program design and provides advice & subject matter expertise to achieve required business results.

Conducts analysis required to inform strategic recommendations and considers the big picture when assessing whether or not a course of action is advisable in terms of the group and enterprise goals.

Collaborates with internal & external stakeholders to provide business context in the design, develop and implementation of programs & solutions..

Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide Finance/program-specific insights and recommendations.

Monitors and tracks performance and addresses any issues.

Supports change management, ensuring cross business/group coordination and logistical support for the implementation of change.

Develops tailored messaging about the strategic initiatives; and identifies appropriate distribution channels.

Participates in implementation of strategic initiatives within group and across BMO by partnering with various internal & external stakeholders as required; complexity of initiatives may vary and usually involve multiple stakeholders across the enterprise.

Identifies enablers and key issues prior to and during implementation, raises issues with stakeholders and offers solutions to resolve issues or risks that jeopardize delivery.

Executes work to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service.

Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.

Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.

Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.

Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.

Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed .


Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Undergraduate or graduate degree in in a relevant discipline

3+ years’ experience in a Finance, Technology, Data Analytics or Treasury function, or as a Business Analyst/Consultant in financial services

Previous project management experience (working with or as a Business Analyst, Tester, Technology Specialist, etc.)

Excellent knowledge of SQL, SAS, Power BI, MS Excel/Access/PowerPoint/Visio, Jira/Confluence

Knowledge of the Bank’s information systems and use of financial software applications is an asset

Knowledge of Treasury functions, financial reporting, and financial analysis is an asset

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively independently, in a team, and with other internal/external colleagues

Ability to evaluate and work with large amounts of data

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
