BMO Financial Group Manager, Strategy and Initiatives, Home Financing & Equity Products in Toronto, Ontario
The Manager, Strategy and Initiatives for Home Financing& Equity Products, will be responsible for managing strategic processes forhome equity products within the Home Financing line of business, includingarticulation of the overall Home Financing strategy and ensuring overallbusiness objectives and initiatives are achieved.
Supports thought leadership and articulation of holisticHome Financing portfolio strategy across multiple functions, includingacquisition, portfolio optimization, retention, policy, and pricing.
Leverages detailed analytics and evaluates financial performanceof the portfolio (including review of customer experience, balance, mix,spread, non-interest revenue, market share, share of wallet, customerretention, product and customer profitability) to identify, assess andprioritize strategic opportunities.
Maintains an external focus to understand competitive,environment and technology changes that will impact product portfolio andrecommend plans and strategies to capitalize on any change to meet overallbusiness objectives.
Develops documents and commentary that highlight HomeFinancing’s strategies, and as required, refines documents in line with targetaudience (internal team, senior executives, external audience, etc.), andfacilitates meetings to ensure projects or initiatives continue to trackagainst objectives.
Manages team strategic offsites by working with VicePresident, Head of Home Financing and Personal Lending, to set agenda anddevelop or gather materials.
Strategic Product Management
Bring strategic lens to business and intimatelyunderstand all aspects of product performance and drivers (market, financial,business) to inform Home Financing strategy and provide advice andrecommendations to the Director.
Deliver strategic view of product solutions andenhancements in alignment with the approved Personal Banking Canada strategy.
Provide input into overall Home Financing valueproposition, including aspects of features and functionality, that will allowus to profitably differentiate products in the marketplace based on a thoroughunderstanding of competitor/ substitute products and product performance anddeep customer knowledge/insights.
Develop strategic and tactical plans to manage existingproducts, seeking to maximize value creation across the product portfolio andstreamline the product offering, as appropriate, balancing simplification ofthe product offering with customer need fulfillment.
Regularly monitor customer and competitive environmentsto ensure strategy remains relevant to customer needs and achieves the desiredcompetitive positioning.
Approach strategic process from a risk perspective byexploring existing and potential sources of risk, taking specific actions tomore accurately and effectively identify and manage them.
Analytics & Reporting
Monitor current and forecasted metrics for growth inbalances and profitability.
Conduct regular analytics on product related metrics,including, but not limited to, revenue, balance, market share.
Work with product analytics, customer insights teams toprovide analysis and recommendations on strategies (including campaigns,programs and initiatives).
Participate and prepare regular quantitative reportingrelated to products/key initiatives.

Possesses a university degree in business/commerce, data sciences, engineering, finance and/or mathematics (graduate level degrees preferred) and/or 5 to 7 years of experience in consulting/banking, strategy role at Financial Services firm, and/or strategic product management role
Familiar with/ willing to learn one or more industry leading data and analytics tool sets including, but not limited to, TIBCO Spotfire, TIBCO BPM, SQL, SAS and Tableau
Possess advanced knowledge of Home Financing & Equity products and related industry considered an asset
