BMO Financial Group Senior Analyst, Retail Automotive Finance Program Management in Toronto, Ontario

Description:

The Senior Analyst, Retail Automotive Finance Program Management role is accountable for providing product, pricing and analytical support as a part of the Pricing and Program Management team for Retail Automotive Finance. The Senior Analyst, Retail Automotive Finance Program Management mandate covers the following:

  • Monitor, maintain and update competitive reporting through environmental scans

  • Obtain, manage and analyze competitive information with respect to product features and pricing by working closely with the sales force and third party vendors. Compile results, comparisons and insights in a professional report for management use

  • Communicate and disseminate BMO’s competitive position in relation to competitive market

  • Analyze, track and monitor monthly OEM pricing to identify trends and opportunities

  • Measure, monitor and analyze key performance indicators to determine performance of BMO’s Standard, Partnership Plus, National Specials, Regional Specials, Bonus Specials, OEM Specials, Dealer Group Specials, Volume Specials and any other programs

  • Manage and review all pricing and bonus exceptions to drive profitable quality growth

  • Create, update and communicate Rate sheets to sales force, centres and portal

  • Maintain and update competitive information as appropriate on all relevant internal sites to ensure accurate and up to date information is available

  • Regularly monitor competitive environments to ensure product offers remain relevant to the client and the dealer needs and achieve the desired competitive positioning

  • Develop product expertise and understand all aspects of product performance and drivers (market, financial, business) to inform on product features and benefits and provide advice and recommendations

  • Manage the development and maintenance of pricing models and tools to support spread management optimization and support analysis

  • ensuring models are updated with key inputs and assumptions to maintain currency

  • Analyze distribution mix across originations and monitor cost of funds to ensure strategic pricing appropriately optimizes yield and recommending actions as appropriate

  • Identify and escalate pricing issues that reflect disadvantaged competitive positioning

  • Identify and escalate emerging pricing trends in the market place

  • Track all competitive requests and disseminate competitive intelligence received, both on a transactional and general basis, to support future pricing decisions

  • Obtain and maintain competitive information with respect to product features and pricing. Assimilate results, comparisons and insights in a professional report for management use

  • Develop and maintain a database of competitor activity including pricing and competitive offer trends

  • Completion and distribution of regular pricing and product related correspondence with the appropriate stakeholders

  • Provide support on as hoc pricing and product analysis as needed to the Senior Manager, Program Management RAF

  • Audit and follow up on cases where conditional approvals were provided on pricing or product exceptions

  • Identify any exception request trends or outliers

Summary of essential job functions

  • The candidate will work closely with other team members as well as other teams and with various partners across BMO Headquarters and will act as a subject matter expert with respect to competitive position and competitive environment. The role is suited to someone with a strong analytical background.

  • Other ad-hoc reporting and analyses as required

Qualifications:

Minimum requirements

  • 3 years of experience in an analytical field

  • 3 years of experience in either the Automotive Industry or financial services

  • Undergraduate Degree

  • Strong computer skills including complete proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Advanced Interpersonal and Communication Skills (written and oral)

  • Analytical and Logical Thinking

  • Strong Business Acumen

  • Interpersonal Skills

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail

  • Ability to Problem Solve and Troubleshoot

  • SQL experience is an asset

  • Strong knowledge of Automotive Industry is an asset
