Merck Associate Director, HPV Global Marketing in Upper Gwynedd, Pennsylvania

Position Description:

The Associate Director of Global Marketing for the HPV Franchise is a key role reporting to the Director of HPV Global Marketing. This individual will be responsible for:

  • Creating and deploying innovative customer engagement and brand promotion strategies for HCP and HCC, solutions that fully leveraging digital, social media, data analytics, and partner with the Digital COE, Enterprise Social Media Team and IT partners.

  • Developing public and private marketing strategies and execution plans including market and performance analyses consistent with the overall brand strategy. Leverage market research and local market intel to prioritize and curate content based on local needs for HCP and HCC utilization.

  • Leading the execution of “The Power of We” internal HPV disease awareness program to increase awareness of HPV related cancers amongst employees around the world. Coordinate execution strategies with local Brand Managers, Communications Leads, Agency Partners, others in key markets.

  • Ensuring strong alignment to and execution of the brand strategy across the extended Vaccines teams (Global Cross-Functional Team, Country Marketing teams, Medical Affairs, Policy, Promotions, Market Research, Communications, Learning Development etc.).

  • Partner with Latin America Region (including brand managers and cross functional teams) to drive global HPV strategy and local prioritized deliverables in key markets.

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree

  • Preferred: MBA

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years local, regional or global marketing experience, market research, market access, or business analysis

  • HCP and/or HCC core marketing experience including; strategy, development, and execution

  • Product and Legal review process, market research and promotion knowledge

  • Proven experience influencing without authority, and working collaboratively in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams

  • Ability to think and approach complex problems in a strategic and structured way

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen

  • Strong project and organization management skills

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Ability to anticipate and rapidly respond to market and competitive changes in developing and executing brand strategies

  • Consumer and/or digital marketing experience

  • Global or Region/Country market access or policy experience

  • Ability to identify creative approaches to market/customer understanding

  • Intellectual curiosity about all aspects of our customers and business with a strong desire to persist in finding opportunities to maximize our business

  • Ability to incorporate information from a variety of sources to shape recommendations and plans
