Responsibilities

Business Analyst Role

  • Create and provide input on strategic documents including Project Business cases, Assessments, Communication plans and detailed project plans.

  • Analyzes data when required

  • Researches problems/issues, recommends solutions, and implements solutions.

  • Provides tactical analysis associated with projects

  • Tests system enhancements, upgrades

  • Liaison between IT and user group

  • Supports the production users in their day to day jobs

  • Participates in projects as assigned by providing input to the project structure and acting as a SME (Subject Matter Expert).

  • Completes assigned tasks in projects managed by external PM’s.

  • Present project updates, participate on presentations, represent finance interests on updates to senior management external to Finance department.

  • Able to use different applications to create various forms of output as needed.

  • Understands the business, recommends improvements to business processes and drives implementation.

  • Working to improve processes and tools used within the program of work

Project Manager Role

  • Lead medium sized teams on minor projects possibly crossing departments.

  • Use the appropriate tools to manage projects.

  • Keeps track of issues

  • Tracks tasks and follows up with responsible individuals

  • Escalates issues when appropriate

General Duties

  • Keep management informed of progress with projects or tasks assigned

  • Escalates as appropriate for any situation.

  • Mentor co-workers

    Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor Degree or advanced degree (MBA, Masters) in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or similar field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of Accounting, Business analyst, or financial analyst Experience

Knowledge and Skills

  • Above average written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

  • Detail oriented to ensure work has been completed accurately

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate through multiple systems without assistance

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Strong knowledge working with/creating macros and databases

  • Basic knowledge working with Microsoft Visio

  • Results oriented, solution driven

  • Ability to see the big picture

  • Work comfortably in teams

  • Self-starter. Self-directed. Works individually with minimal supervision.

  • Strong project management skills

  • SCRUM Master

Other Requirements

  • Other team members-coordination of information

  • Senior Management within the organization- to provide communication on project updates and solutioning

  • Other members of the organization for any impact from changes which may affect them

  • Clients, Carriers, brokers, taxing authorities. - Ensure strong relationships with external customers.
