Marsh & McLennan Data Research Assistant in Urbandale, Iowa
This critical role will perform list selections by extracting information from membership and insurance files maintained on the data warehouse system or raw data files from clients.
This position works within established procedures and applies a basic understanding of marketing database management. Receives direction and assistance from management. May take on special projects as assigned by management.
Completes all list select activity accurately and on schedule to ensure project deadlines are met.
Organizes, validates, and provides appropriate membership, insurance, and demographic data.
Documents pertinent project information to aid back-end research and analysis.
Completes quality control steps to ensure an error-free mailing.
Coordinates with IT to research data integrity issues.
Completes quality control steps to ensure an error-free mailing. Perform peer-review of projects to ensure all steps are completed accurately. Review live samples from vendor to ensure data integrity.
Handles special projects and ad hoc queries as requested.
0-3 years of relevant experience
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, IT, mathematical, statistical related field or equivalent work experience required
Working knowledge of relational databases
Basic to intermediate SQL experience preferred
Knowledge of direct marketing concepts
Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Detail oriented to ensure accuracy.
Above average written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Access and Excel.
