Eaton Corporation Production Manager - 1st Shift Machining & Adapters in Van Wert, Ohio
Eaton’s Hydraulics Division is currently seeking a Production Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Van Wert, Ohio facility.
The primary function of the Production Manager is to coordinate and support a team of production employees and first line supervisors across all three shifts within the corresponding department. The production manager will be responsible for coaching their team, driving production efficiency, managing production goals, ensuring commitment to safe work practices, and drive engagement of their team.

You will manage the daily activities of all employees. Maintain adequate metrics to ensure levels of performance are known and improved upon.
You will ensure that adequate equipment is available and implemented safely so as to adequately and efficiently conduct business.
You will implement and enforce all policies, practices, and benefits and employ effective leadership techniques and employee relations activities to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all people working at the facility.
You will identify and implement methods and practices to achieve steady improvement in efficiency, quality, service and continuous improvement in operating profits. Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors and key intra-company contacts to effectively manage the operation for best results.
You will ensure through training and daily audits that safe practices are constantly employed throughout the facility.
You will communicate and demonstrate the Eaton best practices, ethics, values and philosophy such that these cultural attributes are incorporated throughout the organization. Coach, counsel and discipline employees as necessary, including performance management. Develop, motivate and coach team members; act as an employee advocate and interview potential new hires. Promote customer satisfaction.
You will actively participate in cross-functional company-wide teams to assist in driving quality improvements, process improvements, business system enhancements and process standardization. Review order exception reports to identify root cause and takes appropriate corrective action. Assist in the creation of training plans and programs, and promote cross-training opportunities.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
Minimum 3 years of supervisory/managerial experience.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Minimum 5 years of supervisory/managerial experience.
Experience in process manufacturing (plating).
Experience in assembly/machining (lathe and mills), preferred.
Six Sigma Green belt or higher, preferred.
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Position Success Criteria:
Basic human resources skills, including assessment and selection techniques, performance management, health and safety awareness, and basic understanding of applicable labor law- title VII, ADA, FLSA, FMLA, EEO, etc.
Knowledge of lean processes/techniques.
