POSITION PURPOSE

Director of Supply Chain Operations provides direction to the overall success of a highly complex, distribution platform or region. Dir of SC Operations is responsible for providing leadership, direction, guidance, and support to assigned facilities for planning, organization and execution of facility operations of geographically dispersed distribution centers ranging in size and complexity. Dir of SC Operations plays a key role in DC management team s development by providing supply chain operational expertise and leadership coaching.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist in development distribution strategy in partnership with Distribution Sr. Director for assigned region in alignment with Company strategies, objectives and priorities.

  • Oversee implementation of company strategies and priorities leading to tactical plans and actions necessary for the distribution centers to appropriately execute in accordance with established goals.

  • Provide leadership, guidance and feedback to distribution center management through on-site visitation and interaction with leadership team based on analysis of productivity, operational KPIs and safety reports of individual distribution centers.

  • Play a key role in influencing performance and development of DC associates (although sometimes without direct line supervision) through SME logistics operational knowledge and THD supply chain leader expertise.

  • Interact with business partners to drive results and deliver solutions including Supply Chain, Operations, Merchandising, Finance, Human Resources, Asset Protection and Stores; identify and share best practices across the Distribution network.

  • Ensure implementation of policies, processes, and service standards that meet the needs of all internal and external customers.

  • Lead Project Execution and provide operational compliance oversight.

  • Own tactical operational planning for facilities within the region (production, inventory, capacity expertise).

NATURE AND SCOPE

Reports to Sr. Director Distribution in assigned region or platform.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:

Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.

Travel:

Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 8 years

Physical Requirements:

Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree concentrating in Operations Management, Business or Supply Chain.

Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel software application
