Eaton Corporation Assembler - 2nd Shift in Vicksburg, Mississippi
Eaton's Lighting Division is seeking an Assembler to join our 2nd shift team. This position is based at our Vicksburg, MS facility.
Assemble various industrial lighting fixtures and components by performing simple repetitive assembly tasks on conveyer or in a stationary work cell. Follow production schedules as detected by supervisor or lead personnel and working from sample fixtures. Handle and move parts from skids and pans to work bench, channels, ends, etc., changing methods or procedures only when directed. Assist material handler in obtaining parts as necessary. Perform individual quality inspection throughout the assembly process, marking and setting aside parts which have obvious defects and informing supervisor and/or set-up personnel.

In this function you will:
Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition
Must observe safety rules and regulations at all times
Perform additional related duties as required
Must pass a qualification test to be considered for position.
You will work with tools such as hand operated power screwdrivers, hand screwdrivers, rivet machine, terminators, baggers, pliers, hammer, drift pin, nut runner, other hand tools, and protective safety and electrostatic dissipative equipment.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) from an accredited institution
Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Vicksburg, MS will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
- One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to add subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to work at a rapid, continuous pace.
Must have good manual dexterity with hands.
Must have basic computer skills.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision (painted parts), and depth perceptions (internal component assembly).
Eaton has announced its intent to spinoff its Lighting Business into publicly traded company (“SpinCo”). This transaction is expected to be completed by the end of 2019 and this position is expected to remain with SpinCo. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton’s plans, programs and practices. The Lighting Business is in the process of developing its total rewards philosophy, strategy and structure, including the design of its benefits and annual and long-term incentive plans that will take effect when SpinCo becomes a publicly traded company. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Lighting Business when SpinCo becomes an independent, publicly traded company, you will be eligible to participate in SpinCo’s compensation, health, welfare, and retirement benefit plans and programs and should have no expectations that SpinCo’s plans and programs will mirror or be substantially similar to Eaton’s.
