Oracle Senior Principal Product Manager - Utilities Work and Asset Management WAM in Vienna, Virginia

Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will specify, design and implement major changes to existing software architecture. Define project needs. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to ensure consistency, testability and portability across products in general.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

The UGBU is the Global Business Unit responsible for the Utilities vertical. Product Management is responsible for setting the product direction for products owned by the UGBU and for assisting the sales force to achieve optimal results.

The product manager will work as part of a small but global team responsible for utilities work and asset management related applications. You will have overall responsibility and ownership over one or more areas of the Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management (WAM) suite of products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set the product direction and define the product roadmap for the WAM product, research and analyze market needs and customer issues, and prioritize enhancements to the product to ensure that it addresses market requirements suitably.

  • Gather information to define product specifications and document detailed business requirements.

  • Review designs and monitor product development through sprint reviews to ensure the final product is aligned with the requirements.

  • Assist in creating product documentation, marketing collateral, functional and configuration training and Utility Reference Model.

  • Educate global sales/pre-sales team on new product capabilities/releases.

  • Provide assistance to sales for strategic efforts (helping respond to RFP's and involvement in sales demonstrations)

  • Work with customers implementing the product to ensure successful deployment and make them as a reference

  • Support implementation partners in building product skills and help ensure their projects are successful

  • Drive solution innovation primarily focused on reducing the total cost of implementation and increasing market competitiveness.

  • Interact with industry analysts and promote asset management thought leadership at trade shows.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in Work and Asset Management software applications, such as Oracle WAM/EAM, Maximo, Infor EAM or SAP PM.

  • Experience in the utilities industry (Electric, Gas or Water/Waste Water).

  • Understanding of various Asset Management best practices and thought leadership.

  • Knowledge of the application areas such as GIS, Supply Chain, ERP, Mobile Workforce Management, Customer Care and Billing and how they functionally integrate with Work and Asset Management.

  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.

  • Multiples years of Customer-facing experiences such as implementing software or pre-sales. Customer-first attitude, going beyond to make product deployment successful.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Team player. Ability to align with the larger team goal and adapt.

  • Ability to take ownership of a set of deliverables and work across the cross-functional team to ensure its success.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with T&D market and Construction Work Management is a plus.

  • Global experience a benefit.

  • Experience with Agile development processes and working with remote teams is preferred.
