Position Title NOSC T&E Administrator IV - Network

This candidate will be part of the team who will test the new patches, firmware, updates and settings on switches, routers, servers and custom mission support equipment on East Coast Combined Tactical Training Ranges. The ideal candidate would be able to work with geographically dispersed team environment responsible for the management of diverse, complex, and ever changing DoD networks.
Working with engineering, operations, server, and communications, and cyber security staff, he or she will also identify new efficiencies and design implementation models. Interfacing with engineering team will be required to provide guidance and expertise for all network related projects. This will include best practices in network design and security as well as integration with the existing infrastructure.
He or she will work with the existing NOSC network; server and cyber security administrators to analyze existing challenges and propose efficient and prompt solutions. They will be responsible to apply STIGS and other updates as required by Department of Defense, Department of Navy (DoN) directives, and best practice.
The candidate will be expected to maintain system documentation, network drawings, procedures, and policies.
Requires Bachelor’s Degree plus 4 years of Network Administration experience or at least 10 years of network administration in combination with IT Training, IT Certifications and progressively relevant work experience:
Plan, implement, verify and troubleshoot local and wide-area enterprise networks (TIER 3 support as needed).
Design, integration and implementation of Navy tactical and training networks.
LAN and Enterprise level Network Administration and troubleshooting of Layer 3 Routers, Layer 2 switching, VLANs, VLAN access control lists, port security, switch security issues, Link aggregation protocols, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), Inter-VLAN routing solutions, First Hop Redundancy Protocols (FHRPs) - HSRP, VRRP, and GLBP, Branch office operations, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Layer 3 path control, quality of service configuration and troubleshooting.
Experience with VPN technologies and hardware encryptors utilized by the NAVY (TACLANE).
Must be able to test Windows, Network and range utilized systems with new patches, firmware versions and updates in order to produce procedures for implementation with minimum impact on operations.
Minimum Experience Requirements
Minimum of 6 years’ experience in the following areas:
Experience configuring cryptographic equipment and assisting in key loading / custom route implementation.
Experience configuring systems to Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guidelines.
Experience configuring, implementing and maintaining Enterprise Level Microsoft Domain infrastructure and managing Windows environment to include group policy objects, DNS, WSUS, RAIDUS and access control lists.
Supports Network and System Vulnerability Assessment and re-mediation, backups and Disaster Recovery.
Conduct network security vulnerability assessments using DoD provided scanning tools and liaison with network administrators to correct identified problems.
Minimum Position Specific Training Required
Must maintain DoD 8570.1/8140 certification requirements for IAT-II
Documented formal training in Cisco systems to a least the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) level
Must possess and maintain a DoD Secret level Security Clearance and a valid state issued driver's license

Knowledge of basic SQL Server operations
