Job Description

  • Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations. Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution. Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications. Conducts technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors and company representatives. Acts as local on-site representative to customer's organization.

  • Provide support for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic (SSC-LANT).

  • Work involves computer systems and networks, Identity Management, Key Management Infrastructure, Information Assurance (IA), systems and network engineering, design, and installation.

  • Employee performs system and network engineering, analysis, design, implementation and life-cycle support of computer systems and networks with a focus on the security of those systems and networks.

  • Employee performs work involving security, Identity Management, Information Assurance (IA), Key Management Infrastructure, system engineering, design, and installation.

  • Provide system and software engineering; system, software and data testing; network and communication requirements, analysis and documentation of IA requirements and policies relating to communications and computer systems.

  • Conduct inspection and testing for fielded and developmental systems.

  • Develop security procedures and establish administrative and operational controls to provide project support.

  • Review technical documentation such as specifications, proposals, engineering change proposals, and life-cycle requirements.

  • Develop technical/security documentation such as data architecture topology, communication test plans & reports, vulnerability/risk assessments, and security plans/procedures.

  • Provides engineering oversight and configuration management of software systems including system requirements definition and development; system detail design; system architecture design; software coding, operational simulation testing and deployment; software/hardware integration and configuration control; system qualification testing; product research; technical analysis and tradeoff studies; system operational and test documentation; and any other engineering efforts required to successfully develop and deploy advanced software solutions.

  • Coordinates, plans, develops, implements and manages the strategic implementation plans, Help Desk procedures, training plan, and other documentation necessary to the implementation and life-cycle support of a program or project.


  • BS or equivalent + 2 yrs related experience, or MS + 0 yrs experience

  • Minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.

  • Knowledge of security considerations relative to the use of ports, protocols, and the OSI model; Domain Name Service (DNS); IPv4 routing protocols; router configuration; Packet-filtering, stateful inspection, and application-proxying firewalls; network intrusion detection & prevention systems; email gateways; anti-virus/malware detection, prevention, and response mechanisms; and client-level (host system) security. IPv6 routing and security implementation experience is not required but desirable.

  • Knowledge of Federal, DoD, and Navy information assurance vulnerability and compliance programs.

  • Knowledge of securing Linux and Windows operating systems.

  • Knowledge of Navy networks (e.g., NMCI, RDT&E, data centers) a plus.

  • Experience with cryptographic devices, TACLANE, IG-250, SECNET 54, etc.

  • Meet DOD 8270 Level II requirements upon hire.

  • CISSP (Level III) desired but will accept a level II certification with at least one operating system certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, Linux Administrator, Cisco Certified Professional, etc.).
