Oracle Marketing Cloud (OMC) – Product Ambassador Organization – Principal Product Manager

Within the Oracle Marketing Cloud, a new product ambassador organization exists to help drive aggressive OMC targets for 1) Revenue Growth and 2) Customer Retention. The three pillars of this organization will be based on Sales Support, Customer Success, and Partner Engagement. This specific position will help manage the Customer Success element, working directly with Oracle customers and Oracle consulting/services teams to ensure customers are realizing the full potential and value of the integrated Oracle marketing platform. The person in this role must have significant management experience, extensive technical product knowledge and the ability to engage with all levels of Oracle and customer management, to align 1) Multiple Internal Oracle organizations – OMC Sales, Product Management, Consulting, Professional Services, 2) Major Oracle Customer Accounts 3) External Partners – Systems Integrators, ISVs, Agency Sales - to develop a cohesive strategy for OMC customer success.

The individual in this role will need to succeed across the following vectors to support aggressive OMC goals for Revenue Growth and Customer Retention:

Engage in OMC “Get Well” Accounts– Perform technical evaluations and audits of select OMC Lighthouse customers who have expressed issues with performance or product usability – our intent is to provide guidance as to how customers can improve their operations. Work with customers on options for implementation of our recommendations. Findings could lead to consulting/services engagements for the account.

Align with OMC Digital Marketing Assessments to Expand Customer Product Use– Proactively engage with Overlay Team assessments of customers’ marketing maturity. Perform evaluations and provide guidance as to how customers could realize even greater benefit from expanded use of Oracle products across the entire OMC platform.

Guide OMC Product Teams– Influence OMC product-strategy and feature-prioritization initiatives by effectively representing the interests and abilities of Oracle customers’ and partners’ technical personnel. This includes being an active member of the internal Product Council. Work with Engineering and other product managers to define product enhancements that promote the intelligent configuration and use of OMC products

Ensure Customer Success– Evaluate and assess customer feedback and challenges. Conduct account audits and assessments to determine opportunities to improve the customer's experience using the Responsys and other integrated Oracle CX products. Identify opportunities for cross-selling additional products, features and services to insure customer retention and deeper product adoption. Present results to customer stakeholders, partners and Oracle consulting teams as appropriate.

The team will need to move quickly to drive immediate revenue growth by engaging with partners who fill product gaps and extend our sales efforts, while also establishing longer term processes and relationships to ensure ongoing OMC customer success. The individual in this role will spend a majority of his or her time representing Oracle to customers at all levels of executive management. This team will be small, with large responsibility, so the person in this role will need to build an internal network of supporters across Oracle OMC – product, sales, alliances, at all levels of executive management – and he or she will need to get those organizations to invest time and resources to engage with our customers to meet OMC revenue targets. He or she will need to manage these Oracle/Customer relationships and align each party’s objectives to ensure success.

Actions and Accountabilities:

Understands OMC’s product portfolio at a great degree of technical depth – from perspective of end-user, systems integrator, solutions architect, and product developer.

Builds tight relationships with OMC consulting, expert services, professional services, product, and customer success organizations. Understands these groups’ areas of expertise and is able to insert these resources into customer accounts where needed to ensure customer success.

Acts as liaison between OMC customers and various OMC product teams (Responsys, Eloqua, Infinity, Maxymizer) collecting issue reports and feature requests to triage and prioritize as necessary, and also keep product teams educated on issue resolution and the product roadmap.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or a bachelor’s STEM degree and applicable coding/architecture work experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in the information technology sector.Previous marketing/ad tech/data software experience preferred, previous experience working with the Oracle Marketing Cloud Platforms (e.g. Eloqua, Responsys) highly valued.

  • Experience in designing and implementing marketing strategies at customer accounts – not only from a product perspective, but also from process and strategy elements. Must have concrete experience regarding what works well and what does not.

  • Proven Product Management experience and establishing new relationships that creates net new business.

  • Demonstrated Relationship Management ability, to build consensus and to work through others in achieving desired results and objectives with demonstrated autonomy to work in highly complex, matrix environments with multiple stakeholders and high degree of ambiguity.High level of common sense and “figure it out” IQ preferred.

  • Demonstrated track record of significant accomplishment in an Individual contributor or leadership role including successful development and management of accounts/ programs/ projects in complex matrixed organizations with numerous constituents.

  • Ability to present results and strategy to teams while considering variety of knowledge levels within an audience.

  • Ability to effectively communicate daily performance by producing all necessary reports in an effective, timely and tailored manner.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Manage a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a manager in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Leads a specialized area which may have diverse functional elements. Frequently interacts with supervisors and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 1 year of software engineering or related experience.
