Eaton Corporation Lead Engineer - PST - EESS in India

Eaton’s Corporate Research and Technology (CRT) team located in Pune, India has an opening for a “Lead Engineer – Software Development” within Eaton India Innovation Center. This position is responsible for application development for electrical systems.

In this position the incumbent will be responsible to bring execution rigor for software development, application development and software testing to programs in the field of distributed energy resources, their integration and management (like in microgrids, smart grids etc.), grids of future, energy storage technologies, engineering analytics, smart products and systems and asset health management. Strong technical knowledge, problem solving skills and collaborative style is required to be successful in this position.

Working with multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams, the individual will

  • Demonstrate exceptional problem solving and analytical skills, co-ordinate with globally diverse cross-functional project teams effectively and deliver technology solutions

  • Collaborate with Eaton’s product teams, global experts, external partners and extended teams to enable technology development

  • Does schedule and resource planning, budgeting and executes major milestones or project deliverables to achieve the project objectives with-in the desired time and cost.

  • Communicates in right amount and frequency to all stake-holders and teams on the project status and progress. Identifies risks ahead in time and seeks help to ensure project and team goals.

  • Provides mentorship to other members of the team and promotes a learning culture

  • Deploys existing processes and brings change in a collaborative and constructive manner.

  • Actively participates in internal and external learning forums & professional bodies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Electronics Engineering / or equivalent technical field from accredited institutions.

  • Bachelor’s (7-10 years) or Master’s Degree (3-5 years) in Computer Science engineering or Electronics and Telecommunications with experience in software development and software testing for applications in distributed energy resource management, microgrids, smart-grids, grids of future, power converters, connected systems, asset health management and smart products.

  • Within product development or research and technology organizations from major MNCs and/or overseas experience (e.g. Degrees, exchange research program, on-site work) highly desirable.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Proficiency in PLC programming, Python, C, C++

  • Experience with processors and embedded development platforms

  • Experience in test automation for verification and validation

  • Understanding of communication protocols, configuration management, device drivers, database is desired

  • Demonstrated excellence in development of software and applications for electrical systems, connected systems and asset health monitoring.

  • Hand-on experience in building experimental setups and conducting disciplined experiments would be desired.

  • Ability to apply Design for Six Sigma methodologies including QFD, DoE and reliability engineering in the course of their work. Green belt certification in DFSS or DMAIC is highly desired
